Based on the respected OBP-3 preamp, Aguilar's Tone Hammer features fully sweepable midrange frequencies in addition to bass and treble controls. With the Tone Hammer's pristine DI you are set for the studio or the stage.

To give this tone shaping preamp the ultimate flexibility, Aguilar added their proprietary Adaptive Gain Shaping circuitry (AGS) to the preamp. AGS allows the player to kick in an additional gain structure and EQ with the "stomp" of a button. You can now go from modern slap sounds to vintage or overdriven.

18-volt operation gives the Aguilar Tone Hammer plenty of headroom to reproduce the most dynamic playing style. Separate Gain and Master controls allow you to dial in just the right gain structure for any instrument.

Read many reviews on this preamp so I had to give it a try. Glad I did. The +18db on the bass and treble can really bring a bass to life, especially in the kind of gigs I do, working with a 9-piece band. Hey Aguilar, this thing is killer!

I'm a guitarist! But I'm definitely getting it...the tone this thing delivers, my god! I've used it with a Rickenbacker Bass and a Gibson LP Studio... It Rocks, big time... Don't get me wrong, I love the sound of a full stack amp, but... wow!
