I have owned and do own several ampeg amps. I was looking for something for bigger venues when I can across this monster and ordered it. Shipping was quick and prompt. This amp is super low, loud and the clarity is amazing. I use a fender american p-bass along with a jazz bass as a back up . I prefer to have the sound of bands like Rush, The Mars volta, Iron maiden, deftones, Pink Floyd and this amp gets me there. The heads graphic eq knobs are a little fragile so be careful transporting the head . The cab is pretty much indestructable with the exception of the cloth grill but thats an Ampeg tradition. If you wanna rock and be heard loud and clear I strongly suggest this set up!!

One of the best amps I have ever owned, loud, low, punchy. No problems at all !! Quick shipping . Completly satisfied . If you rock out and need that heart pounding low end then I recommend this set up !
Great half stack.

I have owned this half stack for almost 3 years now and I have come to the following conclusion. This half stack is probably the single best if you're that underlying bassist who fufills your duty as "that rock bassist." For me, that's not who I am. I give my rock band a different sound. My bass amp is as loud as the guitar amp and i throw in tons of solos, licks, pops, etc. This amp is amazing for providing that bottom end. However, it doesn't deliver those G-string pops of my fender jazz. If you are like me, I would not reccomend this half stack or similar ampeg half stacks.
Awesome

This is my first half stack to own, but I have played on a few.
The first Thing I noticed upon receiving it was that it was finely packed. There was no damage to any product upon opening and assembly.
I played around with the tone controls first with my Ibanez GSR 100. I was pleased with everything except for the midrange knob. Whenever you turned the thing it made the speakers crack something fierce. But I simply turned down the volume so I didn't make myself deaf when adjusting that.
The equalizer is awesome, and lets you cut and add where you need the sound.
Using a starter bass with poor electronics, I wasn't able to get a very pleasing sound out of the thing. So i switched to my Musicman Sterling HH 4 string.
I am now in love. I have so many tone options available between the head and the bass it's awesome.
As for weight, the two pieces aren't bad. That head may catch you off guard though because of it's size. The Cabinet is light enough to where I can pick it up myself and put it in the back of my truck.
It's sound is amazing though. It's loud enough to play at smaller venues but I wouldn't go anything over 200 people with it.
absolutly wonderful

I had been stumbling around in the dark with a number of cheap but awful sounding amps. I decided enough was enough and that I was going to get the sound and power I needed. That came in the form of this setup.
The B2-RE is a wonderful and extremely versatile head that can play any style and give you any sound you want, and its got power. Just watch those little EQ knobs, Ive had one break off just enough so that its still usable, just ugly. Its now sitting in a rackmount case.
The cab is the crown jewel of the rig. its simply amazing. Ok, ok so its like a small refrigerator to move, but the thing just sounds amazing and that makes it worth every inch I have to move it and worth every penny I put down to buy it. The extra porting that goes into the SVT-HLF really makes the lows sing, while the mids still punch and the highs still soar.
no matter what your style or playing or music, this rig WILL sound awesome.
