Have gigged extensively with this amp for the past 4 years. Bought this amp as I was playing Reggae/ Dub and needed a lot of wattage to push massive low end. I have experimented with a handful of cabs/ speaker configurations. Ampeg 410HLF, Acme low B2 Carvin redline 410 /redline 18" sub stack. Seems to never run out of power to push anything. Note: in many instances amp will will sound best when mono bridged. Only complaint is that when I switched styles and wanted more tone /color out of amp I was a little disappointed in how flat / dry it sounds. I have played active basses through this amp which helps shape the tone a little however a nice external tube preamp used in combination is ideal. The tube emulation circuit on the ampeg doesn't do much - dirties up the sound but thats about it.

I've had this machine for months now and its surprised me alot! The 5 different settings and EQ deal a great factor to my sound I'm looking for and has expanded me sound just a bit more. The only thing to this bad boy is it would be best to be pushed through a 610 or 810. The B4R is the top head in the B-series for Ampeg so if your looking to invest on an amzing amp gets this puppy. Its worth it!

I've played this puppy thru Hartke cabs and finally matched with ampeg 6x10 cab and it has really bumped out some nice tone and punch. This is one of the most versatile bass heads around. Heavy in the rack but damn well worth every effort and penny!

I've been playing this amp through the SVT-810 and it blows me away. I'm going on 3 years and it hasn't let me down! It is a little heavy especially with everything else in the rack, but it still is worth every penny. The EQ and texture features make it extremely versatile and fun to mess around with. Definately recommend this to anyone who want a serious amp.

Ampeg has always been the best when it comes to bass amps but this monster here can really make you sound like a professional. Not only do you get a huge amount of power to use the EQ on it is probably one of the most sensitive I have touched, a tiny adjustment makes a huge change. The price is perfect for this amp and you’ll understand why once you have played on it, Ampeg is still the best without a doubt
