ive had this amp almost a year now and after soem time of twisting and turning some knobs, you know, balancing some EQs and what not, this amp Kicks it. Im runnin' a fender Pbass special through it and even at practice, Its heard over a tube amp, another guitar amp and DRUMS. how about that? yea, it works wonderfully for recording too w/ the style selector, put it on 3 for a smooth recording sound or 4/5 for a more rugged, "twangy" sound. Def. worth the money i paid. not really expensice actually?

Not what it seems

I bought this amp about a month ago as a practice amp. I knew I was in trouble when I took it out of the box and the Ampeg name plate was screwed on crooked. It had an awful vibration from the beginning when turned up. I'll make it short, I had to disassemble the amp tighted parts and reassemble. I would have thought this would be done at the factory, guess not. When I removed the amp cover it looked like a kid had been let loose with a glue gun to play with.

I have 3 Ampeg amps and this one should be avoided. My B3158 and BA15 are fine. This amp however sounds as if a speaker was nailed to a tin box.

Way to save money by moving overseas. I'll buy something else next time.

The Line Out Works! A Note

For "Sad to Return it," I have had this amp for almost nine years, and use the line out without the speaker. The trick is to find a phone plug headphone adapter, and use it while also using the line out.

Ampeg Wins Again

Purchased this unit to use as a home studio/practice combo. Am currently playing my Epiphone Les Paul and Epiphone Viola beatle bass on this unit running both bass thru a Mackie mixing board with DI inputs, DBX 15 band graphic EQ per bass and a Lexicon studio rack reverb/ effects unit. I am extremely pleased with the features, construction quality and tonal range of the Ampeg. In the 70's I used to own an Ampeg V-4B tube head with two very tall refrigerator V-4b cabinets loaded with 4 Altec Lansings. I must say that the new combo head brings back fond memories of glory days of old. A very fair priced unit that I expect to last for years. If miked and set-up properly I suspect that it could be used semi-pro through a quality pa system

I got this amp not too long ago because I needed a practice amp. But this baby can be used in the medium sized sanctuary at my church! It has great tone and the tone selector is a nice touch.
