Great little combo Bass amp

This amp sounds bigger than it is. The style control is basically different EQ presets that would be moe usable if they could be controlled by a foot switch. Even though its a solid state, it still has that great Ampeg bass tone. Since it's an Ampeg, you know it will last. Plenty loud enough for most club gigs and has an XLR out for DI to a PA or Mixer if needed. 1/4 TRS for headphones for private practice and RCA imputs for running a portable musuc player for jamming along with. Would reccomend to anyone.

i've owned this amp for 5 years and never had a single problem with it. it's been to many gigs and seen countless hours of use in the studio and still sounds just as clear as the day i got it. i love it even more now that i took the head out of the cabinet and use the 15" speaker as a sub for my pa and the head as my main guitar amp. if you have a decent eq shaping device, you can use the head with just about any instrument and make it sound completely solid. since the my detached head is mounted in an unmarked wood box, i get a lot of people asking me what it is and where they can find one; they're always surprised to hear that it's the cheapest ampeg you can buy. i would recommend this amp to anyone looking for perfectionist tone on a budget. the only thing it doesn't do is push huge cabs by itself, but with a tube preamp, it can power as many speakers as anyone who is considering buying it would possibly own.

I have been using my Ampeg BA115 for just over a year now- I sold my V4BH/115 and bought this and a B200R. I use the BA115 almost exclusively for bar gigs, outdoor festivals and practices.

With our setup, it is always running into a PA, and I use the tiltback feature as my on-stage monitor. I wouldn't recommend it if you play in a loud band and didn't have PA support.

At 60-some pounds, it's not too bad to carry around. Sound guys like it because it has the xlr balanced out- no need for a DI box.

It's pretty bullet proof, no problems yet!

This amp sounds amazing and is incredibly durable. I have dropped it over and over. The only to problems are that there is a lot of hiss from the horn and a lot of hiss in the XLR line out

TOUGH AS NAILS

I beat the crap out of this thing, it doesn't travel much but it plays hours and hours a week at full volume being pushed by a SansAmp Pre-amp pedal with boosted mids, a boss OBD-3 distortion pedal that's just brutal on it, and sometimes a wah pedal, and it's been doing this since the middle of last year.

Nothing has gone wrong.

It's not exactly loud enough to follow along with the halfstacks I play with, which is why I'm saving up for another amp, but if you're playing with combo guitar amps it'll keep up.

The 5-place frequency knob doesnt seem all that versatile but I do use it to find a few different tones I like. Not a negative feature for sure.

I've never plugged it into a PA but I'm sure that's just as reliable as it's proven to be for me.
