I got this thing at a pawn shop for real cheap. It was my first bass amp. The effects were kinda cool for the first day or two then they were just there and really useless to me. Good for a bassy kinda jazzy sound but really not good for a hard, fat, punchy sound. All in all its an OK bass amp. If you really wanna know about it just go down to a music shop and test it out.

I've owned this amp for over a year now so I guess I feel I know enough to write about it. First of all, the grill is a piece of junk and will not protect the speakers. I'd replace that as soon as possible if I were buying this amp. Second of all, the effects are next to worthless. Most of them are garbage and if you turn up to knobs to add the effect in you get extra hiss. There was already some hissing that came with the amp, not too much, but enough to annoy you a little. The amp is powerful and has good punch. I can usually get away with playing at somewhere between 5 and 6 when playing with my band which is pretty good for me. Overall, the bass is decent quality but it would be better priced somewhere around 550-600, which was what I bought it for.

This is an amazing amp I own it. It has an amazing tone and I think if you're gonna play bass play it right with Ampeg. If it's good for Victor Wooten it's good for you.

I've played this amp a few weeks in the past, and be warned! This amp lacks punch, strange however it has two 10" drivers, it can't deliver punch. Not one of the effects. Thus impacts the volume the amp can produce, not much. But the bass sounds nice, but there is NO PUNCH.

I'm a recording engineer and just did a session with this guy. In technical terms, this amp is 100Hz and little else. The cabinet is poorly shaped and the ports are set to creat HUGE resonance around 100Hz. So you have a really boomy sound with no balls. The amp section is a joke. There's tons of dials and switches but none of them seem to have just a normal bass amp sound. Then you add on those cheap/useless digital effects. I've worked with the version of this amp that has a single 15" speaker and it's the same story. If you want a good bass sound for not a lot of money, look elsewhere. It took us an hour of fiddling with this thing to get something that was even passible and it still took a ton of EQ in post.
