Head, 3D Head, Rear Cabinet, Right-facing Head, Face

This Ampeg Half Stack includes the SVT-3PRO Series amp head and the SVT-410HLF Classic Series bass cabinet.

The tube preamp section of the Ampeg SVT-3PRO Series Head re-creates the great bass tone that made the original SVT the most respected bass amp of all time. The power section is tube-driven solid state with a toroidal transformer that generates less noise and magnetic interference. Delivers 450W @ 4 ohms and has an arsenal of tone-shaping tools: 3 bands of tone, a 5-position mid selector, 9-band graphic EQ, plus low and high boosts. Other pro features include input peak LED, input pad and bright switch, mute function, tuner out, variable line-out level, time-delayed turn on, DC-supplied filaments, and variable fan speed. 2U rackmount.

The Ampeg SVT-410HLF Enclosure gives you plenty of volume and clean low end. This 4x10" cabinet has the same speakers and 1" horn as the SVT-410HE with 2" coils and 30 oz. magnets, but the cabinet itself is tuned differently. It's deeper and has a bottom port that results in better low-end response, down to 28Hz!

To tell the truth, I'm really pleased with this pairing. You can get plenty of juice for most settings... for anything it doesn't produce enough to handle, you're probably plugging into the PA anyway. The porting on the cab does seem to really make it capable of some extreme lows, although I am definitely pushing the head to get them. I play a 5-string Lakland; the low B string is preeety much there, but a little shaky at C and B. Playing in a 4-piece alongside a loud drummer and two overexcited guitarists, but I can overpower them all if I want... Considering adding a 1x15", but it's really all set for now. I'm a happy camper.

First off, this is just my opinion. You don't have to listen to a word I'm saying. I bought this stack because of the positive reviews and its constant praise by fellow bass players. Well...It's not all what is cracked up to be. The tweeter in the cab blew after a few days, but I contacted Ampeg (Dino is a nice guy) and am planning to replace it. The main problems I have with the amp are; it takes a very long time to power up, I just can't get a clean, powerful tone out of it, and there isn't an audible difference between having the tube gain on 0 or 10. Ampeg also insists on putting that stupid 5-positon midrange selector on SVT-PRO series amps. I'd rather just use the graphic EQ, but the amp combines the channels when it's turned on. Now, I'm one of those bass players who likes to be able to plug right in with the EQ flat and have a great sound. If you're looking for an amp with that feature, and one that can be versatile and fit in with many genres, look somewhere else. Ampeg should stick to making REAL SVT's. However, if you are a die-hard Ampeg user, go with the SVT-VR (it's the closest thing to a good ol' Ampeg). Again, it's just my opinion, you may like this stack. Just make sure you go try it out before you choose to buy it.

I was in my local music shop just looking around one day looking at amps when I saw the Ampeg SVT-3Pro. I sat down and plugged it in. It was plugged in to a Ampeg 1 15 cab but it sounded amazing. Great Highs great lows. I plugged it into the 410 hlf and it was even better. clean crisp sound and could handle any effects I plugged into it. I bought it after that and have been happy ever since. I have played it at shows and when everyone else was hooked up to the PA this rig still was punching through. The only real thing I'm not to pleased about is that when I switch between a bass with active pick ups and one without I have to mess around on the head just to get a similar sound from before and the svt-3pro tends to peak out on the volume much quicker with direct pick-ups than active pick-ups. Other than that I love the sound, quality, and value. Great Buy

Excellent lows, the cabinet perfectly accents the head's tube section also giving it amazing mids and highs. I have a wide distortion section on my rig involving a boss bass overdrive, turbo rat, and sometimes the big muff pi. This cab is great for growling distortion on bass, as well as keeping the tone alive with effects. Great for any style, it honestly has everything you need unless you desire more power.

I have owned both the SVT-3 Pro and the SVT-410HLF for a few months now. I have recorded and performed in loud rock clubs with this combo. It works great! The amp is a hybrid that is the most versatile of the SVT series. It will produce a clean sound if you want to use your 5-string (the ported cabinet works very well for that), and you can get the overdriven dirty sound for the P-Bass and Jazz Bass.

This amp is not the SVT Classic, but it is a great middle ground when you need a versatile rig!
