The Electric Blue 180 head produces 180 watts of Ashdown goodness via a fan-cooled, fast-transient power stage. The preamp section boasts active/passive instrument inputs, a VU-style LED input meter, 5-band EQ with Bright and Deep switches, front panel-mounted DI output, FX loop, and tuner/line out.

This is the amp that could...and does. This thing has a ton of power. Loud and no humming you will sometimes get from other name brand amps of it's size. I have never had the volume up over 50% because it is just so loud. The 15" speaker really gives the low bass tones justice. It is also pretty heavy due to quality construction which keeps it from vibrating and rattling. I can easily keep up with a guitarist and drummer. Pure crisp sound with mid levels tone controls. Good luck in finding an amp at this price that equals in quality. Ashdown simply makes great products.

Loved this amp when I owned it. Not only does it sound great, its built like a rock. Solid, sturdy, and dependable, just the way a amp should be. Its features are a bit limited, but it more than makes up for it with the quality of its sound. It can definetly hold its own on stage or in practice, and it can hold its own when compared to other more expensive amps. For the price, it is a great amp that can take you far in your bass career. Not to mention its reasonably priced for the amount of bang you get out of it. Get this amp, you wont regret it.

I bought this amp a few months ago and can say it holds up very well. Playing it at complete full volume at every practice, (because it just can't be heard over the guitarists 2 4x12 line 6 cabs with his Vetta 2 though, obviously) and miked or direct in through PA speakers, this thing hasn't blown or caused any problems yet, and I'm sure it won't.

This is great for a beginner practicing at home or at low volumes with the band, the tone isn't the best out there being a 15, but as a beginner you shouldn't be as concerned about that as much as just wanting something to rely on, and this does it. It's got good tone for it's size, and it's affordable. I wouldn't use it for a live show but it's served its purpose greatly with me. Letting me practice.

So to the beginner looking for a RELIABLE practice amp to learn on your OWN and not for power to be heard over blaring guitar without micing or DI, this is great and affordable, I recommend it.

After playing through this amp there is only one thing that came into my mind: I have found the one. Ive played several genres including metal, funk, jazz, punk, and blues through it, and its EQ allow me to find the perfect setting for each. It handles slapping excellently. This thing is a tank. its is very well built, sturdy, and it seems to me it will even outlive me. the only problem I found in the entire amp was that it would be great if it came with side handles, since it is a bit of a hassle to carry it (thats why i gave it a 4.5 in features). I solved the problem by buying a little cart that allows me to take it everywhere I go.

I have used this for small gigs and it handles it perfectly. Its heard all the way in the back of the room, and I'm even told to lower my volume! it doesnt distort the sound even at very high levels. I have also used the D.I. output during recording sessions and the engineer asked me to let him use it for other bands! The recording came out amazing!

I have used a heavy distortion pedal through it and it handled it perfectly. Ive also played a guitar through it and it handled the highs pretty well.

After my experiences with this amplifier I have become loyal to Ashdown Engineering and my standard for a great amp has been raised to what their amps deliver. Recommend it to anyone.

Well I was going to wait until the warranty to run out before I added a couple of tuned ports to the back of the cabinet, but I went and did it now and voided the warranty with the cabinet modification. The results are in, amps volume increased dramaticly. Now I can use this for smaller gigs without bringing an extra bottom.
