My band bought this bass as a backup for our Yamaha after the Yamaha fizzled on us at a gig. We jury rigged the Yammie and finished the gig but went right out and bought the Axl and as happens frequently the Axl has become our bass player's #1 axe. So far all we have done to it is to take it out of the box. We have played a couple of gigs with it and we are well pleased with the fat sound this bass provides. Our bass player loves that "Third button" as he calls it. He has been playing bass for thirty years and has played all kinds of basses, but he feels as if this bass sets him apart from all the other bass players in our circuit. Definately a stand out. This is one dang good bass. Worth much more than it sells for. We like it a lot. Buy one.

I have had this bass since AXL came out with them. In my opinion It is as good as a Fender P Bass or better. I also have 2 of the 6 strings with are as good or better than a Fender, great to play

Badwater Bass not Bad

Brought bass, adjusted the neck and height of the front pickups to my specs and BAM!!! It took off like a 747 set airplane. The bass fresh out of the box was nice. The look of coarse is the bomb as well. You can get Motown sound out of the bass as well as a combination of a "jaco" sound from the bridge pickup. I always liked the bass from the first time it was presented to the world. A very decent instrument for a very, very decent price. I've been playing for over 20 years and this is one of my first picks to do gigs. It's light, it has tone, The big thing about this bass is that you can easily get to the high notes. A plus in my book. "Great Bass".
