Takes a little getting used to

It's heavy and the neck dives, but all it requires is a strap with texture. The sound is amazing and easily tweakable, once you get used to it being heavy and shaped interestingly, it's definitely the bass. The only thing that sucks is it is very oddly shaped and requires a little effort when you look for a case.

I have to agree with all the comments and ratings. I've been playing bass 30+ years and used many basses. I wanted another bass because my Fender P was killing my shoulder. I started looking and reading for what seemed like forever. I saw the Widow and hesitated because I couldn't find any reviews. I took the chance because I could always return it but they aint getting it back now! This thing thunders! Be ready to rock the house! I've cranked this BEAST through some very expensive casino house systems, through 5 different brands of bass amps and let me tell you, there is not even one small iota to say negative about the Widow. If you want the "off the hook look" and monster thunder bass sound look no further cause you won't find it. As an added note, big as this Widow is, it is lighter than the P Bass. It is extremely smooth on it's highs also. VERY GOOD JOB B.C.RICH!

One Of The Best

BC Rich have always been known for the shapes rather than the actual quality of the instruments. I, on the other hand, second that...this is by far one of the best basses I've ever used...it's a little heavy but the tone and the action just blow away almost all of its contemporaries. And no doubt, this is one of the most wicked shapes BC rich ever came out with. I wonder why this bass isnt really well recognised.

Incredible

This bass is simply amazing. It had such a great tone to it. I played through a Genz-Benz shuttle and another amp whose name I can't remember, and I have to say that the tone was incredible and sounded very close to a Frank Bello type sound. Everything from the lows to the mids to the highs sounded very even and would definatley stick out among loud guitars. The neck was extremely fast and very good for soloing. The neck-thru construction added quite a bit of sustain and made the notes ring out quite well. The only reason I don't own one is because they don't make a four string model. There's absolutley nothing wrong with 5-string basses, I just don't have a use B-string. But regardless this is probably one of the best basses you can buy. With neck-thru construction, loud output, a tone that is almost like Frank Bello's, and a good set of loud pick-ups, this bass well worth it.

Best Bass I've Ever Played

By far the best bass I've ever played. This is my first 5 string and honestly, it blew me away. The tone you get from the B string is just astounding. I use a small 15W amp at home and just a few notes was enough to make the walls shake. Great bass for the price. BC Rich definitely sold me on this one.
