I got this amp six months ago and i realized that at lower volumes this thing was great but as you got past 5 on both nobs it sounds like its about to blow itself apart. So today I had a technician look at it, and behold the speaker is only rated at 120 watts. surprise surprise, I will say that the amp is good but the speaker is not up to snuff. So if you don't mind changing the speaker than get this it has the power,its built like a rock, nice EQ options, along with the effect input and output

I'm not an amp connoisseur and I don't claim to be, but I know for sure that this amp is a fantastic value. It's EQ and options are simplistic but they get the job done. It doesn't have any weird effects and honestly brings out the tone of your bass guitar without distorting it. I haven't had any problems with the speaker thus far (I've had it for about a year) and I can crank the volume up without it crackling a bit. For a no-nonsense bass combo at a very fair price, this is the end-all amplifier.

This is an excellent product. We switch around instruments a lot in my band, from guitar to bass to keyboards, and this amp has impressed us with quality for all three. This was wonderfully priced, the amp is durable, has very little distortion, even when cranked all the way up, and the EQ offers plenty of tone control. It has an incredible amount of range and was a perfect buy.

I purchased this amp due to the price and decent reviews on this site. Ive had it almost a year and now its dead. Started as popping from the speakers to low distorted sound and now its just dead. Dont buy this amp!

A few years ago, my dad bought this amp so he could play bass. He thought it was great for what he was looking for. Little did he know that I was going to pick up the instrument and start playing bass guitar. As I've developed as a player, this amplifier just doesn't create the tone I'm really looking for. The amplifier is okay if you use the standard bass sound found in many recordings, but I prefer the tones of Chris Squire of Yes and John Entwistle of the Who. This amp can't do any of those sounds. Only if I bought about 20 effects pedals with this amp could I produce something close. I attempt to make the Entwistle sound by having the Treble at max, the High-Mid at three quarters, the Low Mid at halfway, and the Low at one quarter, and the shape at halfway. The shape knob does add some improvement on the tone when trying to work with it, but the amp isn't versatile enough. It does lose some lows when you start to crank it, but I'm okay with that because it adds sparkle to the tone. If you want an amplifier which will get any job done and isn't an incredibly expensive Ampeg, go with the Line6 Lowdown series. Don' buy one of these.
