Best little amp for the buck

I've had this amp for about 2 1/2 years, and the factory speakers are terrible! After blowing a couple of sets I replaced them with Emminence BP102's and this amp really kicks now. I have a lot of other amps; some Mesa's, an SVT, and some other oddball stuff. This amp is a great little amp for rehearsal or small venues, but they need to do something about those speakers...

As a starting bassplayer you have to make choices between quality and budget. I couldn't afford a Tracy Elliot and therefore I scored a Behringer BX4210A. And after 2 gigs I must say that I'm happy with my choice! It's still functioning and the quality of my sound wasn't that bad as some as the reviews I read (maybe tuning your sound is somehow hard for some people), and I pumped it full power and nothing broke...

Behringer pedals suck, I agree but this amp is worth it's money!

While there is no arguing that Behringer decided to put in speakers that can't handle the amps power this is still a great amp for the price and let me explain why. I own several Behringer products with which I am very happy with but their manual are difficult to read to put it nicely. Anyways after using it for a month at a gig I noticed that the speakers kept on overloading because has a clip light that warns you. I went back and read the manual and it says that the bass signal should peak at 12 o'clock on sound level dial on the top left of the unit. I have a passive 5 string Cort bass and after tweeking the gain to the highest setting and putting the output to around 8 or 9 o'clock I have never had a problem again. I've been playing at a small bar in a three piece and have never had to turn it up louder than that because it just has a ton of power. Anyone who doesn't read that important section in the manual and just cranks the gain and the output knobs way up is probable going to ruin the speakers. It is a strange quirk to have on an amp but if you dial it in right you won't have any problems. Great quality amp for the price. Fellow musicians are shocked at the quality of the sound for the price.

I got the BX4210A about a year back to function as my exclusive rig for all gigs. The amp is pretty bada** for the price, but the aluminum cones -will- blow on you, especially if you don't break them in. I was too impatient and cranked the hell out of it the first time I turned it on. Bam - left speaker blew almost instantly. I replaced both speakers (figured that the right one would blow soon as well) with Eminence Beta 10As and now this thing really rocks. I still think this amp is worth the money, but I recommend shelling out the extra $150 or so and replacing the crappy stock aluminum cones with Eminences. Other than the speaker issue, I have had no problems yet. The side wheels do kind of suck, but that's not a show stopper.

I am a bass player, been playing for 28 years. First time user of Behringer, impressed with the way the amp is built. Sturdy, heavy-duty. But, too much power for the speakers.
