This amp is great for the price. it sounds pretty good. it is put together a little cheap but it doesn't cost much. its great for anyone that is playing in a small or medium area or you could always run it through a pa. it was my first real amp. ive had it for about 5 years. the only problem i had with it was my input quit working after a while, although i was really rough with it. after the input broke i ripped out the amp and im now using it as a cab for my backline 600 head. it has a great tone and is good for anyone that is low on the doe. the ultra bass wasn't so great but the second channel gives it a little more push.

I bought this when my previous amp fried out and the intention was to use it as a quick fix until I could afford a 'real' amp. It's now been over a year and I still use it confidently for gigs. It's not as powerful as a true 300 watter, for sure, but it has proven itself enough that I haven't felt as hurried to replace it as I thought I would be. I've dragged it all over creation through sun and snow and it still works without a hitch (well, ok, one of the rubber feet popped off). A friend of mine also purchased the same amp a few months before I did and he has felt about the same about it, although to be fair, he's primarily a drummer and has it more as a 'guest' amp for his home studio where most of his bands practice.

The bad? The options beyond just the amplification are superfluous. The EQ is ok at best and the compressor/'ultrabass' options are weak. In both cases, you're better off with external pedals. But then, this is true about the amp in general, i.e. if you can afford the best of everything you want then you SHOULD buy a better amp altogether. This product is about filling a need quickly on a tight budget, and for that it excels (I've even used the aforementioned weak overdrive when I forgot the power cord to my pedal, and it worked well enough in the wake of 80's cheese hair-metal covers, but I wouldn't rely on it for serious metal).

As for Behringer products in general, I've read a few reviews saying to avoid them due to cheap parts. Perhaps this is true, but I can only speak from my own experience. My Behringer mixer, identical to the one used at the radio station I worked at (thus the reason I chose that brand/model), was purchased a decade ago and it has been beaten and dragged around by both myself and various DJ and musician friends that have borrowed it. At year six-ish, channel one (of 24) died, but we just skip that channel and the rest still runs smoothly. At that age, I consider that a successful purchase. I have no reason to doubt the word of those with less satisfying results from the brand, so I certainly would take their reviews into consideration. Perhaps I've just been lucky, but again, I can only speak for my own experiences.

Amps are tricky things because now they are made on the 'cheap'. If you look inside, past the nice exteriors, you will see cheap alloy metal connections that corrode very easily. Then no sound. It's not IF, but WHEN. 2nd-The way they save money, is everything is soldered onto a PC Board. One knock, and the PC board connection breaks. Buy a name brand, and have a local good amp guy, that knows the difference of why point to point handwired amps in the past-and were made obsolete by the expense and the issues I stated. All amps have to be modified with good hardware, and if isn't Mesa Boogie quality-then have your amp guy re-inforce the connections and have it checked frequently if you are even semi-pro and gigging. Even a corrosive effect loop jack not being used can shut the whole board down, so again-go name brand-and have a good amp repair guy-so the investment will last-and it should.

Behringer is a bad company. What most people don't know is that they use cheap parts in their products, this is why you will here plenty of horror stories about the amp simply dying. When they don't sometimes people like them, but I still wouldn't recommend getting one. Behringer usually generously overquotes the wattage of the amp, and lists the PEAK wattage. So this combo is more like 150W, not 300.

It arrived today, plugged in my Fender Precision (just played through '72 Bassman 100 amp this week & earlier today), and it's mud city.

Don't expect my '67 Höfner to sound any better. It's an early b-day gift from my wife, chosen for the "modern advantages". Leaves me wanting.
