Good Little Practice Amp

I have owned this little bass amp combo for about 2 years now. I play in a rock band and I wanted something to bring home and practice on, rather than drag my big heavy 18" bass cabinet and bass amp head. I just store this little baby in the closet and when I want to practice it is so easy and portable. For a little thing, it sure puts out plenty of volume for practice in a room. It has a little eq on it so you can do some tone shaping on it as well. I have even used this to practice with my band several times. When we practice, it is nice to turn all our stuff down and this thing puts out enuff volume for the rest of my band members. When we do gigs, it is nice to have this little guy pointing at me or the drummer for a monitor. with the tilt back option on this, it makes it very versatile. For the money, you can't go wrong with this. It is everything and more that I expected out of it.

OK for practice at home

Had mine a year. It's fine for practice at home alone. When rehersing, I have to give it more treble than I like just so I can hear me. I use another heaver/larger amp for performances but don't take the fork lift to rehersals. The shape control actually gives a nice growl and a boost in volumn without distortion. When vol is on 8 the cabinet has a tiny buzz, but not the speaker, so not to worry. Biggest pain is the shape; this rolls around in the trunk. You have to put it on a pad or small blanket face down. Otherwise everytime you accelerate or brake you hear it rolling around.

Good for band practice

I bought this about a year ago, and it's been pretty good to me. A little bit of hiss, but nothing to cry over. Okay tone, but I can't get that metallic-piano like tone through my Rouge that melodic-hardcore bands have. I play in a metal/punk band, and it keeps up with 2 60W crates and a drum set during practice at about 7 on the volume. You can turn it all the way up, it will stay in one piece. I've used it in a couple of shows with no more than 20 people at each and it kept up. It's not for any show with a decent amount of people, though.

Nice Amp!

I ordered this amp for a friend who is just learning bass. It just came yesterday, so I haven't really heard what it will sound like with a bass plugged in. I did play my Tele and Washburn Acoustic through it. I would definitely use this as a practice amp for Tele, and I'm thinking of getting one for myself to use as an acoustic amp. Nice clean, clear sound on clean channel, and pretty good distotion channel, too. The EQ is a nice feature since you can set it to your own preferences. I'm not sure what the "FBQ" is for, but I'll let Bill figure that out. Great amp. I would recommend this to anybody, for anything.

Great tone

What a nice amp, I've had mine about 6 months. It's enough to play with a guitarist with a decent sized amp, but not enough to be hear over a drummer. The "SHAPE" qualities are amazing. I can get any kind of tone I want out of this thing, anything from that growly punk sound to slappy funk. Great buy. Don't let the brand throw you off, it's an excellent amp.
