I'm a huge fan of flea and this can get me just the kind of "Around the World" distortion I've been looking for for a great price. Very useful as a volume boost, or a bass/treble boost. It's not for everyone, but I love it.

Use as overdrive or a clean boost

I have had this pedal for seven months now, and while it took some tweaking, I now have settings I am able to use. I've found with the gain at 7 o'clock and the Balance at 8 o'clock produces a great type of slight breakup, just like an SVT. Turn the Balance to 7 o'clock and have your Bass EQ at 12 o'clock and Treble EQ at 3 o'clock and you have an excellent 'clean' boost. Built like a tank.

Awful Pedal

hands down, the worst bass pedal of any type that i've ever used. The drive control is absolutely dreadful. turned to 7 o'Clock (6 o'clock being off) is just as hard of a distortion as having turned all the way up. The described "mild drive control" is total bull. This pedal is either totally off, or intensely on. The only good thing i can say about this pedal is that it is sturdily built. I cannot believe that this thing has an overall 4 1/2 stars. I suggest a Sansamp driver DI. Much more controlled distortion and tone and totally worth your money. The Boss Bass Overdrive is an Awful pedal... do not buy!

Hey I've had this pedel for over a year and I realized the only good setting on the pedal is to have the level at 12 o clock, and the high and low at 2 o clock. And then set the wer/dry and the overdrive/distortion nobs to 9 o clock. This setting with a little tone on the bass will have a good distortion with the least amount of ear piercing noise. If you own or are thinking about buying this pedal, I highly recommend that you try this setting on your pedal

Not terrible if you're willing to tweak it

I've been using this pedal for about a year and a half. It took me quite a while to tweek it to the point where I can effectively use it in a live situation. If you're not patient, this pedal will get old fast, but after spending some time adjusting the pedal, my amp and my bass. It has become an integral part of my sound. I'm going to purchase a few modulation effects to compliment this great pedal.
