Disappointing

First off the positive; this pedal is build with Boss's very high quality and robustness, it looks good and the functions are easy to understand and operate.

Overall though I am disappointed with the pedal. It is expensive for what it does and its ability to remain stable with anything more than slow single notes is poor. I'll be returning my pedal and sticking to my Boss Octave pedal for 'synth' type effects, which overall is much more stable than this pedal.

I pretty much love this thing. I play live with my band and instead of using computer generated synth which generally requires a lot of time and set up, I just use this. It adds an element to our music that most people avoid and when it's done right it can sound pretty rad. My only let down is that it doesn't do MORE. I'm finding that I need to buy more effects pedals to combine with this one to really achieve the kind of sounds I'm looking for but then again.... when does a musician buy ONE thing EVER that does EVERYTHING he or she wants?

This pedal really is as diverse as can be hoped for. The response and timing DO have to be toyed with, but once reached, it can be the bees knees. I've played this through a Peavey Nitrobass half stack and it makes the cab's drivers push super hard. Can definitely help to cut through the mix for funky licks. This pedal has stood up to many a drunken party/jam session with no problems or scratches. 9V batteries also make a comfortable, long lasting home in the SYB as well.

This is a very nice pedal. For anyone doing experimental music, or more electronic strains of metal, I would highly recommend this pedal. It will admit, that it does take some time to get used to. I had to sit down with this thing for a while to make it sound presentable enough to play. However, once you master this pedal, it is a very unique and handy tool to have during concerts and it's tons of fun during practices.

My advice is to keep in mind that with this pedal, it is really easy to make it sound terrible, but to make it sound good, it takes time, and some toying.

Also, once you make it sound good, it is worth everything of the outrageous price that you'll have paid for it.
