The Bugera BVP5500 Valve Bass Amplifier Head begins with 2 selected pairs of 12AX7 preamp tubes with their own Drive control. When you want to rock the house, the BVP5500 bass amp brings the serious power with 550 clean, fan-cooled watts to the table. For the non-purists, the Bugera Ultrabass BVP5500 amp has an Effects Loop and an Insert Channel with Preamp Out and Power Amp In connections for expanded versatility. I have had this product for a few months now and it has been amazing! The tone is awesome and the graphic eq gives it a lot of room to fine tune what you want. I also love that with the pedal you can switch to the graphic eq for a volume boost. Amazing power for the price. Great buy.

This amp has an amazing tone, with the graphic eq you can really get the tone you want out of it. Its got power, but for larger shows you should probably run it through a P.A., I'm running it through a 4 10 at 8 ohms. I had my doubts, since it is part of the Berhenger family, but it shocked me to hear its tone and power. Great buy for the price.

i've played live gigs a couple of nights on it and so far it's pretty good. i've used eden, mesa,trace, gk,peavey,swr,hartke,euphonic audio etc and this has a nice warm tone because of the tube section. i'm running it through a 4-10 epiphany cab and a swr 4-10 and it's not bad at all. i would recommend it for small to medium venues personally but i've only used it for rock-pop bands. i personally crave more power so i'll probably buy the 3600 watt bugera nuke and try it. but for the price and the tone you get out of it, it's pretty good. haven't had it long enough to comment on it's durability and reliability yet but not a bad head for 550 watts.

Have mine for a few weeks and this is one sweet bass amp. I have been a pro player for 20+ years, played ampgeg, swr etc. and this is the best amp I have ever played. The tubes give the real warm sound and this amp has more power than you ever need. And it looks real sexy. Don't know how Bugera can make it for this little money. Go for it.

I just got this amp head, today. Man, talk about killer tone! the manual is poorly written, some of the knobs and buttons aren't even listed in it. I had to fool with it to get that sweet rock tone with just a bit of tasty overdrive. While seeking my tone, I found great blues, jazz, metal, country, and grunge sounds. It does a great job with my 5-string Jazz bass and my 4x10 half stack. The Bugera spanks it!
