Cort Curbow 5 String Less Is More

I bought a 5 string Curbow about a year ago on the advice of a friend. I play the way Hendrix played guitar (left-handed/upside down. I play every weekend and with the exception of the original machine heads I couldn't ask for anything more. I find it incredibly responsive with lots of punch when you need it. I was truly amazed at the Bartalini pickup and the range of sounds you can reproduce like a Fender Percussion or Jazz, Gibson EB series from the 70's. I would recommend this bass to anyone who plays a wide range of music and it can cover it all. ==

Great access to upper frets...

The tone is strong across the strings. B-string volume was a little weak, but I adjusted the pickup slightly closer to the bass side ... fixed! I got so excited about this bass, I put in a regular Bart p/u and preamp. They don't fit in the back so we had to do a few mods ... but now the sound is a monster. HUGE tone ... ballsey b-string with all the piano like clarity you need. Sounds almost like a piezo bridge sometimes. I have a had issues with the neck though ... it needs occasional tweaking. Probably because its so thin. But it plays like it's part of you. I love this bass. I also own a Ric 4001, and Fender Geddy Lee Jazz. Buy this bass.

Simply Stunning

This bass is a fantastic purchase. I play a jazz/funk/ rock fusion and the clarity and tone are very good. The cutaway allows for quick access to high end fretwork and the overall feel of the neck and body is very comfortable. When I am on stage, I get a lot of positive comments from other bass players, who are usually curious as to what kind of bass it is. Even when I decide to get a new bass, this one will never leave my arsenal.

Had this bass for about 2 years now and I have to say even today I still play it regularly. The slap switch is nice to have. I have a Spector and upper echelon Fenders and this thing keeps up pretty well.

I have had the 6 string version for 2-3 years and its amazing. The slap switch is a cool thing to have. Tone is amazing even when your strings are getting worn out. Overall this is the best bass ive played out of many.
