Needs work, but great value

I had to get flatwound strings and get major set up and radiusing work done to this bass before it was workable, but that didn't add all that much to the total cost. Accordingly, it's still a good deal, but don't expect out-of-the-box excellence. I really enjoy it now, and it's one of the better acoustic basses I've played that don't cost the equivalent of a small car!

I have had this bass for under a year and the pick up is totaly dead; it plays very well but a small buzz around the 5th frett but goes away after that. I pickd up a Fender A/E bass at a music store and it was much mmore exspensive but played only a bit better. I found the tuner very usefull when the pick up worked

I purchased it for "unplugged" gig that my band is supposed to play. I tried to record it using it's pickup and a microphone. It sounds decent and very close to an upright bass when using a microphone (I tracked it through Neuman TLM 103 and Avalon), however while using it's pickup I got very disappointed. Strings A and D are loud while E and G are very quiet. Makes it almost impossible to play. I am thinking of either returning it or installing a new piezo pickup.

I've owned this bass for a few months now. Couldn't be more pleased for a bass in this price range. It's actually gig-worthy. After adding some nice flatwounds and adjusting the action a bit I've gotten a great tone out of it. It has got a very upright bass sounding tone, much moreso than your typical electric fretless. I think this is because of the picking-up of the resonant wood tone. Stays in tune and is very fun to play.

I bought this bass after 10 years of playing fretted electrics. I wanted an acoustic and decided to kill two birds with one stone and go fretless. Required some mantenance before it would sound good. It had a big buzz issue, but adjusting the truss and some string tenson fixed that. I recomend some new strings right of the start as well. Very pleased.
