I've had my Dean edge Q4 for two years and have had to make two truss rod adjustments (something I've never had to do with my P-bass), but this neck is very narrow & lightning fast! It seems to be a little sensitive to temperature changes, otherwise, fantastic bass. Compare to Ibanez SRX (maybe thats SRG?), Ibanez may be a little hotter but EMG HZs a little fuller on the Q4. The fit, feel & finish are as good as some guitars costing twice as much. If you can't decide on a color, go with blue. You won't regret it!

I bought this bass back in 2000 and played quite a few of the same model. It really does make a difference. The one I chose finally just SANG. It stays in tune, it has a wonderful resonance to it when played; you can feel the thing all through your body when you play. The electronics are great. I mostly do recording with it and I can't imagine a better sound, even on older strings. When I put new strings on it - forggetaboutit!

I will probably never need another bass in my life. This thing is WELL worth the price and a steal if you ask me. As far as the appearance of it - I got the Blue version and it's one of the most beautiful basses I've ever seen.

The asthetics of this bass are very pleasing. The neck pickup is well placed well working as a thumb rest (if you choose to do so) the whole thing is just super comforable. I got a fretless and with the Active EQ it's very diverse. Upping Mid and Low gets a wonderful round, stand upish tone and doing the mid range scoop is great for slapping and tighter passages.

When I got this guitar for christmas I was not totally enthusiastic about playing it. But when I finally plugged in and played my very first scale I was shocked at the brilliant lows of this fine instrunment. I have the bartolini print of this model. To get a great higher sound, you must have the treble nob up, and when you do that, it takes aways the brilliant low sound, Oh well great product I recommend it.

In the past, I didn’t particularly like bass guitars. After playing some of my friend’s bass guitars I didn’t understand why anybody would want to. The usual ugly head and the over size machine heads just didn’t appeal to me. Also the sound was of a muffled nature. However, I decided to buy a bass. The dean edge caught my eye straight away. It is a seriously cool bass. It can be played in any style of band and it just wouldn’t look out of place. The sound is clear and defined, which exceeded my expectations. The guitar is smooth and responsive and is a true pleasure to play. The only disappointing feature is the head. I would have preferred the typical dean head, with the wings as seen on the razorback. All in all, a top class beast!
