Three things you should know... 1. This bass does not comes with black hardware. It ships from the ESP factory with CHROME hardware. 2. This bass has an active tone circuit that requires a 9 volt battery. I have not had to change or charge the battery for SEVEN WEEKS. And I am keeping track. 3. This bass is SUPER HIGH QUALITY otherwise. So much so that the first two were not enough for me to send it back. I have NEVER been able to play an instrument straight from the box as I have with this one. NO ADJUSTMENTS NEEDED!!! You can tell that ESP has pride in what they produce. I would buy it again in a second. Hands down. Just make sure to check out their homepage for the true specifications.

I just recently purchased this bass, and I could not be any happier. I am just starting out on bass, I am currently a drummer, but really like bass and want to learn to play. I have had a great experience with this bass so far and all of my friends that are bassists love it as well. Looks great, very strong, and the sound is AWESOME! BUY THIS BASS!

I got this bass a couple years ago,it was my first real bass aside from a pos ebay special 4 string I had,and then it was an amazing bass. The bass itself is very well constructed with a 6 bolt bolt on neck,has very smooth controls, nice heavy bridge, smooth fast and thin neck, 24 frets,nice machine heads. But after I had gotten my squire vintage modified,and then later Fender Jazz deluxe 5 string, it unfortunately sat in the corner for the past 5 years,in comparison the tone is just too muddy and undefined, and is by far the biggest draw back on this bass. Great for beginners, but unless you buy upgraded pickups, which are very hard to find and cost around 180-190 dollars, I will keep this in the beginners line.

I play for The Knowing Hand, and when this wonderful piece of equipment was sent to me, I fell in love with it. I've had several instruments over the past year, but this one takes the cake. GREAT sound thanks to the Active Tone Boost. Not so hot for anyone who likes to slap, but if you play heavy, this is your best bet!!!

This bass was a present to me from my Dad for my birthday. It was to replace my old Johnson jp-800. When it came from UPS, it was neatly wrapped and shipped. Though, I noticed my volume knob was lose, and by the end of the night, it fell off. It's EASILY fixed. Though, it was inconvient. This bass plays very very very well! Like no sound I've ever heard from a bass. For the price, it's an amazing bass. Highly recommended you buy this'n. No doubts! No regrets!
