The inspiration for the unique shape and design of the LTD F-154DX bass guitar from ESP would appear to be a mix of Route 66 Interstate signs and weaponry from an old Dungeons & Dragons manual. Forgoing the traditional, rounded apple bottom bass, the LTD F-series basses feature off centered curves, beveled edges, and points in places you won't see on any other guitar, let alone a bass. The double cutaway design makes the upper and lower horns appear to be a skeletal finger and thumb respectively. The ESP LTD F-154DX has 4 strings, with a thin "U" contoured maple neck and 35" scale. The body is made of basswood with a flamed maple top that contrasts subtly with the rosewood fingerboard. As your fingers explore the 24 XJ frets your rhythms and melodies are trapped by dual ESP SB-4 pickups and can be reshaped with the ESP ABQ-3 3 band EQ. The ESP DB-4 string-thru-body bridge, tuners, and control knobs are all black nickel.

Went from playing a Fender P-bass to this so I was concerned about making sure I got a fast neck. This neck is great slim and fast. The action from factory was perfect. Replaced with DH strngs. All the controls work great. The mid appears to buzz a little but not a big deal when you are playing. I like to play with all three tones control all the way up and then switch to the back pick up for high clear parts and then mix the picks for crunching. The body thru bridge is nice when tuned to C....takes up some slack. Great bass for the price. I really like it. The only knock I have againist it is the shape. Kinda funky to play when you are sitting down.

Monster of a bass

This bass is phenomenal, a great bass to either upgrade or strat out with. I had an gsr200 that gets it butt smacked by the sound of this bass making my ibanez look like scrapwood. Tones are amazing, the knobs are mids,Bass, and Trebles, along with the master volume and the pick up selector. For an insane tone I put all at max and use the very fron pick up and that gives an amazing growl. The only downside is you might want to change the custom strings to a higher gauge since that increases the tone, but factory strings are never the greatest anyway. I would recomment a set of DR Black Beauties (50-110.

I recieved this as a gift and i was blown away. I had the Rogue LX205B Series II 5-String Bass for about 7 months. And this was a huge improvement. I was stunned how well it sounded on my puny amp. There are not enough words to explain how much i love this beast of a bass. However when I play sitting down there is the little jagged part that digs in my leg. But that is a small price to pay for a great sound

This bass is the most godly instrument I have ever played or owned. The tonal options are very broad with the 3 band EQ (treble, bass, mids). The clarity and punchiness of this bass is unreal. This instrument is great for drop tunings as well. I recomend this bass to anyone who loves metal and loves to play it.

This is the 4th bass in my collection. '73 Fender P Bass, Vester 4 Stage Series, Ibanez GSR200. This is BY FAR the best playing. I bought this because my Ibanez neck just won't hold up to heavy gauge strings. This does beautifully!! DADG and BEAD with no truss rod adjustments. I love the looks, it fits my style perfectly. The pics don't do it justice, the finish is truly amazing! The pickups sound great, but I'll eventually swap them for EMGs. With the active 3-band EQ you have a never ending range of tones. I usually play Drop D tuning and I love the growl of the bridge pickup. Overall it's an amazing bass that surpasses even much more expensive basses. I looked at many Dean, Epiphone, and Ibanez before purchasing this. ESP has them all beat.
