Wicked looking but hand friendly.

The inspiration for the unique shape and design of the LTD F-155DX Bass from ESP would appear to be a mix of Route 66 Interstate signs and weaponry from an old Dungeons & Dragons manual. Forgoing the traditional, rounded apple bottom bass, the LTD F-series basses feature off-centered curves, beveled edges, and points in places you won't see on any other guitar, let alone a bass. The double cutaway design makes the bass guitar's upper and lower horns appear to be a skeletal finger and thumb respectively. The LTD F-155DX has 5 strings, with a thin "U" contoured maple neck and 35" scale. The body is made of basswood with a flamed maple top that contrasts subtly with the rosewood fingerboard. As your fingers explore the 24 XJ frets your rhythms and melodies are trapped by dual ESP SB-5 pickups and can be reshaped with the ESP ABQ-3 3 band EQ. The ESP DB-5 string-thru-body bridge, tuners, and control knobs are all black nickel.

i've been admiring this bass guitar for a few months before i got it, and i must say i was very VERY pleased! the wood is amazing, the action is amazing, everything on this baby is awesome, except for the strings, the G gives a little buzz and the strings aren't that outstanding as the rest of this masterpiece, this is practically the best bass guitar you can get for the price, and while i never actually used a bass guitar with EMGs, the ESPs on this baby sound really awesome, and i read a few reviews praising the pickups for sounding exactly like EMGs. anyway, if you're into demonic looks with awesome sounds, this is the bass guitar for you!

I got one of these as a lighter, more compact companion to my warlock 5. and lighter, more compact it is, but with all the endorsers ESP has, not to mention the fact that you can't watch more than 2 music videos without seeing at least 1 esp/ltd being played, i expected much more from the quality department. the headstock joint on mine was not sanded down all the way, so I could feel the spot where the joints come together, not to mention a few rough spots on the back of the rest of the neck and the clear coat was pretty coarse. upsidewise though, it balances very well and sounds great. the finish is much darker in person, you can hardly see the grain on top. not a bad bass, ESP just gets way too much hype for what they really offer. it definately won't be upstaging the bc rich any time soon.

Tight bottom end on this one, and the pics don't do this baby justice! The finish in INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL! The active pickups make my Standard Mexican Jazz sound SILLY through my Ashdown! The design is AWESOME...no other bass looks like this, and on stage, it's pure evil looks and heavenly tones! The only way this bada$$ baby could be better is if The Devil delivered it himself!

When I first opened the package from ESP, and saw my new ESP LTD F-155DX 5-String Bass Guitar for the first time, I was completely amazed at how awesome it was.

ESP does an amazing job on these. They're well crafted, beautifully designed. The guitar is light weight, and feels very natural to hold and play. They adjusted the action perfectly from the factory, every fret is a feather touch, and no buzzing. The rich tones this instrument produces is outstanding. I would recommend this guitar for players of any skill level.
