I had played quite a few guitars in local music stores to get an idea of things I would like in a bass guitar. I tried Stat's, Thunderbirds, and some other guitars in the same price range. I was a little unsure about ordering it, but I figured that I would take a chance. Wow am I glad I did. This guitar plays and sounds better than any guitar I have tried, and the action is better than any guitar I have ever played. Let me break down the highlights of this guitar. Features: EMG pickups, grover toners, and a nice solid bridge which makes a nice hand rest. The active pre-amp is definitely nice too, as it allows me to make minute changes on the fly if I want. Quality: The battery compartment was a pain to remove, but eventually came out. It was lined with what looked like tin foil, probably for shielding. Also, the mahogany body is not one piece on the body wings. On one half, it is actually 2 pieces. A minor point, but one I feel is worth mentioning. Value: Wow. For the price, I could not get a better guitar. It has an amazing sound, comparable with guitars costing double. Overall: It has a very big range of sounds, and with a nice amp (I own a carvin bx1200 with 9 band eq) almost any sound can be dialed in. It is a very versatile guitar with sweet action and a killer tone. If you are debating about getting it, trust me. This baby will not let you down. The rich sound will floor you, and the guitar is infinitely tweak able. Get it and rock out!
