This bass blows away the mexican fender bass, and I can pull out a fender tone. Also the main reason why I bought this bass over the Mexican Fender bass, was the good neck. The action was low and the neck was straight without any fret buzzing, but when I play three different Mexican Fender basses, Jazz and P-bass I had a high action with lots of fret buzz. Also with some good eq setting this bass with suit any bass player. In addition the bass has a really nice hardware. So the price is about right, but maybe a little high with the recent mark up

The neck on this bass is really as comfortable as the ibanez soundgear necks, yet this bass sounds waay beefier. Great feel, very tweakable. Swamp ash body makes for a very alive and bouncy tone when on the bridge pickup or with the bass knob down a little.

This bass has great tone, but most of all, great possibilities for playing around with it. It features a 3-band EQ so you can highlight your favorite frequencies, single-coil and double-coil pickups (the humbucker even has a coil tap switch). It's made of Ash with a maple neck and fretboard and plays like a charm. the only downside is its bolt-on construction, but it makes up for that with heavenly clear tones and great playability.
