Ok, this thing is pretty sweet and adds a great definition to the notes you want it to respond to. It has only 2 nobs and is pretty much idiot proof. If I could explain in words how it souds it would be a drive with slight fuzz and sort of twangy. I recommend an external power supply because it kills some 9v batteries. Built like a rock, no noise when clicked off, dosen't kill any of your bass like many distorion pedals do, and opens doors with effects you have. Great buy.

Well I was hesitant about buying the Steel Leather Bass Expander Effect Pedal but did and its worth it. The pedal has 2 knobs, effect boost and response. The response acts as the volume for the effects boost which can change your range from a deep bass sounds to a high bass sounds. Or in other words just changing the range of the signal. I use this pedal all the time, I recommend it to all bassist.

im a hobby bassist and i just needed something to put more definition into my playing and that would allow me to cut through the rest of my bands noise when i wanted to be heard. the steel leather does exactly that, it ads a very distinct definition to your tone, and prepare to be heard, especially when you combine it with a fuzz or overdrive. all said this is a great product that every bassist should own, it opens the gateway for so many other effects and just enhances your playing overall, well worth the price

I got this pedal for christmas and as of right now, it is my favorite bass accessory. It has a great tone and can be tweaked to any style of play. Great for slapping too. The jouney ends here if you are looking for a sound that really defines you as the "bassman". In a nutshell, you can't go wrong with this product.
