Dollar for dollar, the best bass amp

The hissing noise is present on mine as well, but only at extremely high volumes. It is a pretty small drawback in an otherwise excellent amp. I ab'ed it against my old Eden WT800 and that Aguilar AG500, and it was louder and clearer all the way. Didn't muddy up at high volumes like the others, and had a lot more volume available. The Class D power amp is really the way to go. The features are just the right set, too ... Pre-EQ / Post-EQ DI, simple but effective EQ, gain/master, just what you need. I haven't missed the EQ on the Eden ... though it had many more options, it was so much more work trying to get a good sound. This just sounds good without a lot of fussing. And it's a good $500-$1000 less than other amps I would consider in its class.

To start off... This thing has everything the UL502 has minus the second channel. It sounds identical, I sat down with the UL502 and this head and I could tell the difference. This is one smooth and clean sounding head, it also has that noticable "sparkle" in the highs just like the UL502. My ONLY gripe about this head is the fact that it has a little hiss when you turn it up to full volume. Also, the chrome knobs look a little cheap I think it would look much nicer with the same knobs that UL502 has. Bottom line is... If you want the Epifani sound but dont want to pay full dollar for it then this is your ticket. Still might be a little to pricey for some and thats why I gave the value a 9.
