The Epiphone Goth Thunderbird IV Bass guitar has great looks, action and tone. Classic Thunderbird lines are executed with a mahogany body and 34"-scale hard maple neck with a rosewood fretboard and Gothic inlay at the 12th fret. The pickguard is dressed up with a Celtic cross while the black-on-black hardware and satin black finish give it a decidedly dark demeanor. Two Thunderbird Plus pickups provide appropriate growl.

TOUGH BASS

I have owned this bass for 2 years now and it's been the strongest bass so far. the features are basic 2 volume 1 tone, it is such a versatile bass, one minute you can play funk and jazz the next you can play rock and metal with a minor tweak. I've rammed and smashed this bass into amps, band risers and floors, and it keeps in pitch perfect tune. i think it's a great bass for beginners to professionals. overall i've been very pleased with this bass and definitely got my moneys worth.

Bought it new from the local guitar center because of how it looked, the strings that came on it (with the standard red threaded ends) needed to be replaced asap so I slapped some slinkys on it and it sounded awesome. The pickups are made so that you can rest your thumb on them when you play, and the three point bridge comes in handy. Only downsides are that it's neck heavy with a strap and it may be awkward for some to play sitting down. This bass has a lot of low end on it for if you're into that and in my opinion not enough high or mid. The neck is really thick on it too making it a little harder to reach some notes. You also need a special fit case for it because of the shape being so awkward and so long, even the biggest universal bass cass I have wouldn't come close to fitting it. Traded it recently on a whim for an Ibanez rgx300 and I'm much more impressed with it. In my opinion, go to a local store that has it and try it out.

And I still find myself using it as my primary. I must admit, this is one amazing bass for it's price. The tone is amazing, it feels better than others i've tried, and the Thunderbird body is by far the most amazing style in my eyes. I would highly reccomend it to any of a novice, or even semi-veteran players.
