I bought one of these in trans black because I found myself playing in a few bars where they sweep up the eyeballs at closing and I was paranoid about hauling my custom Fender J in such places. I didn't expect much for the price but was very pleasantly surprised at the versatility of this bass. It needed a bit of tweaking on the intonation but other than that it was A-OK out of the box. The set neck really does sustain and if you're looking for a rock bass this is perfect. I have been very pleased with this axe and if I ever have to use it as a shield or club at least I won't be out 4 grand! Buy it, thrash it, love it!

It sounds good, plays pretty well..... but is it really worth sending two back? I ordered a new one when it was on sale, first one was scratched badly in several spots, sent it back, a month later or so I got my second one, again, scratched beyond belief, but this time the bridge pickup wasn't even mounted on the upper side, thus is had a giant scratch/worn spot from the E string rubbing though the whole shipping process... brilliant. My third one showed up, again not mounted, but didn't rub the string, still had scratches in the lower cut out, and along the top of it... Quality control sucks, miserably. So if you want to try your luck, go for it.

Plays nice, sounds nice, looks nice. Body outways the center of gravity, so when you let go of the neck it doesn't dip down like other basses. You cant go wrong at the price either. Much better quality than the epiphone les paul guitars

I ordered this bass on a holiday weekend, i got 15 percent off but this is still a great value for the money. the tone is spectacular, it is well set up, good quality tuners, strap buttons and bride. there are now problems on the finish, mines transparent red. one thing ive noticed is the rosewood fretboard has a finish that is sumwaht uneven on the high end, which doesnt affect playability, it just kindof looks cheap. this is the best bass i own by far and with the price, tone, and great playability and quality, i would recomend this bass to anyone, entry level or experienced gigger

This is truely the most epic bass guitar that i have ever played or evan seen. I went to Guitarcenter to get a new bass guitar and i saw this bass and after comparing it to every other bass guitar there, i knew that this was the bass for me, so i bought it and i love it. I got the transparent black colour one and that makes it go realy well with playing metal or any other genre, the pick-ups on it are great fo metal and i was thinking about puting EMG pickups on it because through my experience EMG's where always the best pickups for metal, but the Alnico humbucking pickups are just as good if not better for metal and are good for any other genre also, so i am not going to have the pickups on it changed. Wile playing it feels realy nice theres nothing on it or about it that feels discomforting wile playing it, and comfort is important. Over all there is nothing about this bass that i do not like, there is only one thing however about it that could be difrent and that is that the stubs for the guitar strap could be a little bit bigger, but thats no big deal i can just put bigger ones on there. No bass guitar now or ever will can out preform the Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Special Bass Guitar.
