This is my second bass, my first being a Epiphone Accu-Bass that I got last Christmas. The bass in Natural Korina is absolutely stunning to see in person. The gold hardware and black headstock are nice touches. The pickups sound good, but they aren't great for slap and pop unless the pickup selector is set for the bridge. The range of tones is good, as it can be smooth or growling depending on your use of the pickup selector and tone knob. There is a neck dive, but you get used to it quickly and if you have a nice suede strap it shouldn't be an issue. Above all, it sounds good, looks better, and is a great bass overall.

This bass has a really sturdy, quality build. It seems to leave the factory setup for lower tunings which is convenient. I bought it with intentions to swap out the pickups and whatnot so I didn't even bother to plug it in yet, being that my amp isn't at my house. The only problem I have come across is finding a case for it.

I have a bunch of basses, and while this thing doesn't come close to my MM Sterling HH, it gives my Mexican P Bass Special a run for it's money. Only complaints so far is that the strap buttons are in the wrong places and it's neck heavy. Otherwise, the fit, finish and quality are better than expected

I got this bass a few weeks ago and all I can say is WOW! I owned the Hamer version in high school and I sold it, and I have regretted it every day. I saw Epiphone had released the explorer and the second I knew I ordered one. There is absolutely nothing i have to complain about. The white finish is absolutely gorgeous. It came in almost perfect dropped C tuning which I thought was funny and made things easier for me. I got the planet waves strap lock straps (that way i didnt have to remove and replace hardware i.e strap buttons). All in all I am super impressed
