This is one of the best basses I have ever played. I originally bought it because of the number of famous bassists who play them, and the sound they get out of them. I was right to assume that the sound is characteristic of the guitar, and not the rest of their equipment. It is a very versatile, easy to play, great sounding guitar. Highly suggested to every bassist looking for a top of the line bass.

I have a large collection of basses, all VERY high instruments, and this bass is the one I take to gigs more than any other. It is light, comfortable to play, 100% reliable, no batteries required, the tone is pure J-bass PERFECTION, the action is ultra low, the neck plays like butter, it stays in tune for weeks and weeks, and it's just a "normal" looking bass - nothing obviously so fancy as to be worried about having it get stolen when I am on break. If it did get stolen, I would comb every corner of the earth to find it, or an IDENTICAL one to replace it with. In summary, there is no need for any other J bass of any vintage if you have this one! I expected this bass to be nice when I received it, but I was BLOWN AWAY by how awesome it actually is!

I tried this baby out way back when it was first on the market. If was freakin' amazing! Unparallelled tone quality! The only thing that really got me was the resonating bars. That got in the way of doing slap. Other than that I'd recommend this bass to anyone who likes it.
