Tried this bass out a few times in guitar stores. If I didn't already own a j-bass, I'd definitely go for this one. I really like how the p+j pickups complement each other. The sleek body has a nice look and feel. Radiused fingerboard is good too. I don't like the thin neck though. Some people go for fast slim necks, which this has. I'm looking for a thick beefy neck.

Best Bass Ever?

I would like to say that this may literally be the best bass in the world. Everything about it amazes me. I am a huge fan of fender basses, and this just shows why. It works for every style of music I've come across whether it's live or for more transparent things such as studio recordings. I have played hardcore, worship, pop, and even acoustic sets with this beast and it does the job while sounding amazing. The action is amazing... its pretty much like butter. I love having the split coil from the P bass as well as the single from the J bass. They both have their own volume controls and sounds great together. The only negatives I've seen in the reviews is that it doesn't have a mid range boost/cut. This is true, but it is a passive bass, not active. What do you expect? I personally prefer passive anyway since I almost always run through some sort of equalizer. While it may not technically be the best bass ever, it is probably the best musical purchase I've ever made. I highly recommend it.

I have been playing bass for about 9 years, 5 of which have been spent playing this bass. An amazing bass. The neck is very thin for a bass, and you can really get going fast with your fingers. Jazz pickup is very good. Provides very clean, deep sound. Perfect for a Zeppelin sound. The precision pickup is pretty good, only reason I give it a 4.5 for features. It sounds great for a high-range treble. When you combine the two, it sounds very good. The mid-range, sounds very good, but sometimes doesn't get "punchy" enough for my liking. But all in all, this bass is a dream. I have yet to play a bass that I like remotely as much as my Aerodyne. Even the super expensive Sting Rays. If you want a fender, this is the way to go. Combines the best of both worlds as far as Precision and Jazz basses go. Dont waste your money on any other combination bass.

I am 23 and have been playing bass for 13 of those years. Ive had a few guitars since started. About 5 years ago i picked up this bass and will never need another. The sound is amazing, the play is smooth, and the applications for this guitar are endless. My only problem is I can not find a drop switch for this bass without modifying either the guitar or switch. Email me if you can hook me up with that.

Im a 14 year old bass player. This bass is 110% what you would expect from fender. Both the split and jazz pickups sound crisp and clean, played alone or in combonation. The neck is silky smooth and wont bother you at all. Ive had the bass since last chistmas and have had nothing but good things to say about it. Friends jelous and lets be honest its a beauty thats easy to clean. Works well with high gauge strings as well.
