Latin Jazz/Salsa Bass AMP!

I've owned my bassman for approximately 2yrs and love it. I haved a GK but the weight is too much. This amp is light, powerful and sounds great. I do all of my club gigs with it (and the include xlr output facilitates recording). The only weakness are the caster screws (wheels feel off with days of purchasing!). I replaced the screws with longer cabinets screws. If stolen I'd run out and get another without hesitation.

Fender Bassman 250/115 Amp

This is a great amp for the money. I use it in a church folk group and it easily handles a full house of 200+ people. I like a deep bass sound and the 15" Eminence provides it.

One draw back...the casters are only attached with 1 inch woodscrews. My wheels fell off in 2 months. Otherwise I love it.

I've searched for years for the perfect combo. Been through many of them and always wind up wrestling with the controls on my bass and amp to simply get it to cut without distorting or farting. I've purchased amps from $200 to $1300 (most somewhere in between) and this is the first I've owned that is seeming after 2 gigs to do the trick. It's loud, small, light, has plenty of volume, excellent tone, and doesn't break up when I push it. The price is right too.

Only thing that bugs me at all about this amp is that while they give you the outputs for external speakers, you can't connect any unless you disconnect the internal. It already has a 4 ohm speaker, with a 4 ohm minimum output. There's nothing you can add without the risk of frying the amp, and I've mismatched ohmage before. Think 4th of july, for real. If you plan to use different speakers then you're essentially carrying around a combo with a useless speaker to use as a head. Don't know why fender would do this.

Aside from that, truth is I don't want to lug around another bottom anyhow. I play lots of shows and this amp is a blessing. Thus far I am EXTREMELY happy.

This was my first amp before I stepped up to an Ampeg. This amp is all you really need. I love it. It has a great low end. Perfect for metal. Gotta love it.
