Awesome bass after minor mods

I played this bass at a couple different guitar centers and i am a huge fan of it. it's a MIM so they are a bit hit or miss on quality and consistency but nothing that would make or break the bass for me. The body is heavier than any other fender I've played, which I think is great, it feels solid and like it can take some damage. so here are the recommendations I have for mods I currently own a MIM p-bass that I've installed Seymour-Duncan spb-3 quarter pounder pickup and a bad ass II bridge which has been a huge difference. I like it more than a lot of americans I've played. in fact I'd make those same mods to any american I get so it-s almost pointless So i intend to do the same with the fsr when it shows up in the mail. plus get the neck adjusted to lower the action. I love this bass. it looks good and sounds good. only complaint is the color of the neck vs the color of the body, usually a big difference which I think looks gross.

This bass is really good. I like the way its shaped so I can solo easily, the only flaw in mine was it had a scratch on it when I bought it. But to sum it all up I give this bass a 4.5 out of 5.

Looks, Sound, Feel: The whole package!

The FSR P-Bass has got an awesome tone from the Ash Body and the Rosewood Fretboard. Standard Pickup and electronics round out the package. The tone on this thing is amazing! And the feel of the neck is fantastic. This is essentially the same as the MIM Standard Precision Bass, but that Ash body makes quite a difference! You should try both the Ash, and the standard Alder before making a purchase, but I think I prefer the Ash.

I don't think an FSR Precision is in the cards for me only because I already have a MIM Active/Passive P/J Combo, and an old 1983 Electra Westone X700JB Futura Bass which is electronically a P-Bass just with a really wild body design. If they made Ash versions of the P/J or if I didn't have the Electra Westone, I may be tempted to trade/buy, but I don't think I can justify having 3 Precision Basses (essentially) no matter how much I may like this bass. I can barely justify having the 2.

Anyway, if you're in the market to buy a Precision Bass, I think you owe it yourself to try this one before you make any decisions.

On a side note, these FSR basses are always shown with plain white pickguards, but every FSR bass I've seen in person has had a tortoise shell one. They look good in white, but look even better in tortoise. My hunch (and I'm only guessing)is that if you order this, it'll be coming in tortoise. That's a plus to me, I hope it is to you too! :-)

This is the Standard P Bass BUT with an Ash body. Ash vibrates more than most woods. This gives you more tone and Brother this Bass has tone. A very simple bass. 1 vol 2 tone 1pup 1 output plug. No excuses here just plug & play. Lot of bang little buck.

Not as heavy as I imagined, I was playing a jazz bass before this and it was much heavier. A great bass for a beginner and with a few mods (new pickup/pots, action/intonation adjustment) it works just fine for a professional. I've gone through 5 basses in the last 7 years and I think this one is gonna stick around for a while.
