Cuttin' Corners but Sounds Great

I've been playing this bass on the road for the past 3 years. It sounds great and the pick ups are awesome. I took the pick gaurd off and Fender did not put the finish completely on under it. Make me wonder what else they are cutting corners on. All around its a great bass. Especially for the price

I recently picked up one after owning 3 other jazz bass models. This is definitely the best of the bunch and a keeper. The 3 that I previously owned were a Standard (MIM), Getty Lee (MIJ), and 70s (MIM). None of these can compare when it comes to the feel and sound of the Highway One. The only negative thing I have to say is that 3 of the 5 bridge mounting screws were over torqued. Basically I had to shim the holes with toothpicks so the screws could be tightened. Easy fix, but if the guys at the factory were paying attention to detail this shouldn't happen.

Score MIJ = A- MIA = B+ MIM = C-

I purchased this bass several days ago, it was slightly used but sounded spectacular. The pickups are brillant and the entire bass plays extremely well, the neck was very comfortable and allowed for excellent playability. I must get a set of Rotosounds for it soon, then it will sound perfect!

Amazing bass

I've been playing this bass for almost four years now, and it can literally cover ever style of music. I mainly play upright bass in a 20+ member jazz group, and whenever its time to play funk or latin or fusion I'm excited to pull out this bad boy.

The only reason this bass does not get a 5 out of 5 on features is because the stock pickups are not the greatest. I pulled mine and put in a pair of EMG hz passives right away for about $120 and it sounds as good as any american standard. This bass plays and sounds 10x better than the mexican series and as good as any american standard I've ever played.

I bought this bass at a local music store in my town. It was the best buy I could have ever made. The sound can warm and jazzy or bright and punchy. It is a very light bass as well. The neck is the perfect size. This is a perfect bass
