Flat Black Transparent Wine Red Honey Blonde White Blonde Angled, Back, Art Shot Closeup

The American-made Precision Bass is a classic, the most widely played and enduringly popular bass worldwide. It was Fender's first bass and in all this time its design has only been refined, not changed. The Highway One P-Bass is American made and sports a thin satin lacquer finish that looks great, lets the grain of the alder show through, and ages beautifully. Now the Highway One has been further upgraded with a Badass II bridge. Changing to a heavier bridge is the most common modification made by P Bass owners. The Highway One comes pre-modified by Fender, along with cool '70s styling and the lowest price of any American-made Fender P Bass.

Fender Highway One P Bass Features:

  • American made
  • Alder body
  • Maple neck with rosewood fretboard
  • Traditional split single-coil pickup
  • Thin lacquer finish
  • Badass II bridge
  • Includes deluxe gig bag

It's a great bass and an excellent deal. Go for it.

Okay, so I have the transparent wine red finish and let me tell you its an incredibly beautiful flat finish and it also adds to the sound, and also on this bass you have a Badass2 bridge which was the thing that really got me, but it gives it amazingly solid tone and sustain. Pickups are great, and I mean great and electronics are really nice. This bass and the highway one series is made for performance and it does the job almost to good. This bass plays as good if not better than the American standard P bass but with the American Standard the only other thing your going to get is more colors and a choice between maple and rosewood fret board BUT the highway P bass is MUCH cheaper and a Badass2. If you buy this bass you will not be disappointed. Sounds great with pick, fingers and slap and any style. If your wanting a great American made Fender with a great price this is it.

My Highway One P-bass is a 2005. I wanted one of these after I played my guitar player's Honey Blonde Highway One Bass. I have had many Fender P-basses, Jazz basses, and P-bass deluxes, but this is the first Fender bass that I truly love to play. The neck is fast and slim, similar to my Rickenbacker. The tone is classic Fender. It can growl and it can get real smooth. I play rock and country so it fits everything I play. It dosen't have the Bad Ass II bass bridge, it has the classic Fender bridge. I thought of switching it over but elected to hold off. If you're looking for an American Fender P-Bass, this is the one to get.

I've had the Highway One for about a week (only took 3-days to arrive! Thanks Musician's Friend!) 3-tone sunburst. It's simply beautiful, comfortable and smooth. The action was set perfectly right out of the box. A few minutes to tune and I was playing! Sounds great thru my Peavey Max 112. I'll never part with this bass. It's a great illustration of Fender quality and workmanship.

Had it for almost 3 years

I've had this bass for almost 3 years. I play it through an Ampeg 450 head and a 4x10 cab. I replaced the stock pickups with some active P/J EMG pickups, which make this thing sound incredible. The stock pickups are just what you would expect from Fender though, so it sounds good straight out of the box. The bass has a lot of punch to it which helps it stand out in all the noise if you're playing with other people. After almost 3 years mine has some pretty noticeable wear on the back and where my guitar strap would rub against the body, but I don't mind at all because it's not really seen. The Features and Value are rated low because really there aren't any big features on this thing, and you're paying for the Fender name. but overall this bass is killer and I definitely recommend it.

Expecting this to arrive in a couple weeks due to back order, it came in only three businesss days! This bass has everything I need in a P-Bass, or a bass in general. It has simple control, just like any bass should. The pickup has a pretty big output and one of the best P-Bass growls I've heard. Plus, this is a beautiful instrument (I got 3-tone sunburst). The satin nitro finish is what does it for me. Not to mention, I love the 70's style Fender logo. I'm gonna put on a black pickguard to make it look even more 70's. The Badass II bridge is a huge upgrade from any other bridge. In my experience there's been some fret buzz on my P-Basses, but not this one. If you're thinking if getting this bass, just go for it! You won't regret it.
