I've tried numerous bass guitars over my 10 years of bass playing. No matter how hard I try not to, I always come back to Fender. The MIM fenders are top notch in 2009. Right out of the box, all I had to do was adjust the action and truss Rod and I was good to go. I usually require EB's or Daddario strings. But the Fender stock strings sounded so good, I didn't even bother replacing them. This is the best bass for slapping too. The string spacing is just right and the vintage sound is killer. BUY THIS FENDER TODAY because I can guarantee you that this bass won't be available for long!!

I have an 04 with Samarium noisless upgrade. I kept it passive to try it out. After neck adjust and new flatwound strings this bass has been a pleasure for the last few years. My first Fender bass was back in the early 70 s. I played p basses, jazz, teles, and a new jag. American, Japanese, and now Mexican. I got lucky with this one. Sounds better than many i have played. This is a good constructed guitar and it is one of my favorites. I try others like Lakland and i always go back to Fender.

i bought this bass because i needed a reasonable 5 string that was well built.ive been playing 25 yrs and have always used fender.this is a mexican bass and i played several before finding one i liked.i have made a couple upgrades.first i put in emg active pick ups and a bad ass bridge.i also had the frets leveled because i play with really low action.this bass is a monster, easy to play, beautiful sound, and of course very solid.a great bass at a good price!
