This pedal sounds great. Very smooth OD with alot of low end. The controls are fairly self- explainitory. I've tried many OD bass pedals from Boss to Proco and this one takes the cake. I constantly have people asking me about my tone and I owe alot of it to this guy. It can go from a little grind to over the top distortion. I only wish the boost worked as a clean boost, but it only works on top of the drive. Get this ,you wont be disappointed.

I compared the Tech 21 XXL, and MXR Bass Blowtorch to this head to head. Even at twice the price, I chose this one! The dual stage overdrive sections and the Mosfet settings make this very versatile. The most important thing about ANY bass overdrive or distortion is that it does not remove the bottome end - All three of these boxes make the grade on this point, any of them is a fine choice, but for sheer range of tone and build quality this box is out front.

The pedal is based on the classic TS9 circuitry (as are most overdrives), but has a bit of a harsh edge. I also did not like the gain structure of the pedal, I couldn't get a nearly clean sound from my active bass. This is an oversite.

But yes, it's built like a tank. You can hammer nails with it, and it's pretty flexible outside of the gain issue.

This Pedal is the full package! Goes from face melting distortion that makes even guitarist blush, to a subtle overdriven tones. This pedal delivers everytime. I would be willing to pay double for this pedal, if I had to. Luckily its built like a tank so I won't ever have to.

This pedal provides all sorts of cool bass distortion as well as aclean boost. The low end is retained on both distortion settings. The pedal does exactly what it is supposed to do. Records great. Two different distortions with all sorts of cool options. Fulltone does not dissapoint.
