Great Bass

I had a thing about only playing Fender instruments - until now. This is a great bass in every way. It is very light, has an extremely comfortable neck and is well built. The sound is fantastic, and it can be used for many types of music. I use it for classic rock and jazz, but it certainly is not limited to that. I have five other basses - four Fenders and a Ric. The G&L is quickly becoming my favorite. If you are considering any Fender, or another hollow body (Hoffner?), consider this bass first.

This is a beautiful guitar in every way: finish; feel and sound. It's sound is reminiscent of a Fender P bass but then goes way beyond in terms of dynamics. It's also quite forgiving. The semi hollow body gives this guitar a nice weight but without it feeling wimpy or fragile in any way. This is one very solid guitar and I'd recommend anyone considering a Fender to audition this instrument first.

Huge (and almost any) tone, built like a tank, great neck, great finish (mine is butterscoth blond, like an an old Tele), hand made in the US, can buy it for under $2 grand, with Leo Fender's name--how can you go wrong? I thought my Sadowsky had the biggest sound--the Sadowsky tone is more refined, but this bass is monstrous. Sort of like a BMW vs. a Dodge Viper--why not just get both?

This bass was a purchase that I was really concerned about. I normally do not buy intruments without playing them. This instrument came highly recommended. I think it probably one of the most versatile electric basses I have played.
