had this cab for 1.25 years, and one of the speakers decided to crap out at a gig. the cabinet is a keeper, constructed real well w/rugged grill plate and handles, so tossed the speakers and replaced w/Eminence speakers. now have solid dependable performance, and did not have to deal with the hassel of warranty return shipments, etc. and the risk of getting another bad speaker.

Hi! Its me again...OLDSCHOOL. Just wanted to add an update to my previous review of the GK 210BLX-II. After 7 mo. of weekly use, this cab is still sounding good, no buzzes or rattles. This is kinda exciting to me, because 2 weeks ago, me and this cab went tumbling down a flight of 8 stairs, and when we hit the landing, I bounced one direction, and the cab another. Everyone was worried about me, but my musicians heart was worried about my cabinet!! I came out of the ordeal with minor bumps and bruises and a damaged ego, but the cab was unscathed!! No loose joints, no cracks, nothing knocked loose internally--NOTHING!! I am amazed!! Last nite was the first gig since the fall, and no rattles, no buzzes-- my 75 Jazz sang, growled, barked, and kicked tail!! Would I buy this cab again? You bet I would!! Treat her with TLC and respect, and she'll be good to you!

My bass rig consisted of a Behringer BX4500H head and a PV 115 cabinet. With it, I had decent volume, but the PV cab doesn't have a tweeter/horn. I had alot of bottom end boom! So my need was to add some mid and hi range to my sound, and also to add another 8 ohms to allow my amp to operate at the desired 4 ohms. I decided a 210 cab would fit the need. I looked at several different ones at different $$ ranges. At a local music shop, I came across this GK 210BLX-II cab. I like that GK changed the looks of the Backline series to look more classy and professional--I didn't care for the original "kindergarten crayon" writing on them. This cab doesn't have a horn, and isn't ported, which is exactly what I wanted. I don't slap and pop in my playing, so no horn needed, and my PV cab is ported, so it provides the bottom end. The lack of these two features also makes the 210BLX-II a little less bulky than other cabs, which keeps my rig from being too big. I am pleased with the midrange punch it has added to my sound, and with the extra 8 ohms, it allows my amp to perform to its design potential. The cab is built rugged and sturdy, but the handles should have been located for better carrying balance. I haven't had any speaker rattling or buzzing. I know the cab's power rating and am careful not to push it past it's limits. But if I ever do blow a speaker, I will replace with stronger ones. Overall, I'm pleased with this cab--good sound,reliable performance, and not bad on the wallet. Try one out--it may be just what you need.

I was decently satisfied with this unit until one speaker went from a rattling sound, to just being all out shot! The unit was a value; pricewise, but even the price doesn't justify the low quality speakers. The cabinet is still decent, so I'm looking for a new set of 10s for the box now.

Backline 210 BLX I was excited to open the box and plug it in but my excitement turned to pure disappointment when I plugged it in. One speaker rattled within minutes using a 150w crate amp which is less power than the cabinet is rated at. I am very disappointed with this cabinet. Rattling speakers in a new cabinet are not a value at any price.
