Many makers cut corners with their combos - wimpy electronics, second-rate speakers. That's not the case with GK. Their combos use the same electronics and drivers as their standalone amps and heads. This one features 380+50W biamping with 225W going to the internal woofer. Speakon connectors. The cab has massive, custom-tooled corners; 16-gauge steel grilles; and all-birch construction. The beveled cabs can used upright or rocked back. Pull-out locking handles work with the transport system to make moving the 700RB easy. 1-year warranty on speakers. 2-year warranty on electronics.

im very pleased with my new purchase. i found this amp at my local woodwind brasswind store(sister company to mf). I'm very pleased, some of the comments here are kinda harsh i think. although i can see some craftsmanship flaws, sloppy screw placement and things. mostly im thrilled.sound is all gk, now im just excited to plug in a 210cab or 15.for if anything speakers are taking alot of juice gk is known for theyre honest power ratings.wheels are cheap as i knew from these reviews. cant wait to do a gig. which is why i purchased such a powerful amp

upper bi amp is a joke

The top section of this amp does nothing, even after factory servicing of a brand new amp. The "50w" sounds like 2 watts into a 2" speaker, overdriven. Again, that's what they intended. The bottom part sounds pretty good by itself but the amp as a whole did not make the cut. Handle too short and wheels are for indoor use only. too heavy! The "real combo" idea must have been a concept that went from the drawing board to the product description without any engineering in between. This is sad and disappointing because their 1x12 combo might be the greatest small bass amp in history.

Use in a medium size room

We use this in our church which is about 60 X 100 with a 20 ft ceiling. Three bass players in three services, two using 5-stg and one using a 6-stg. It's fine for hearing yourself over the other instruments, but needs to be run through the house sound. If the gain is run past 3, the sound mixer says it really gives him a lot of distortion. It's never moved so wheel issue doesn't apply. It is good for how we use it: it is never moved. We sit it beneath the grand piano tilted back. When tilted back, you can't reach any controls if you are seated in front of it. Foot controls would help with that if they were available.

Not Impressed

Not impressed with the Gallien Krueger 700RB/120 combo amp for the price. Tried to use it as a primary gigging rig for a heavy rock cover band playing 60-80 person venues. I was hoping the rated power, wheels, carry handle would alleviate some heavy lifting. Couldn't turn it past 6 without speakers popping. Use of an external cabinet is a must. Wheels broke after 4 gigs (1 month). Boost control is more like a "broken speaker simulator." Turning this control above 3 makes the internal speakers pop horribly. Have found this feature to be useless and can't turn it past 2 or 3. Even if it worked as designed (or advertised), why would GK not design it to be used with an optional foot pedal like the MB150E112-150-WATT-MICROBASS-COMBO they offer. Only nice feature was Bi-amp feature that became a necessity due to above-mentioned speaker popping. I can't recommend this amp for any serious gigging musicians.

Nothing it can't handle

Been playing for Elvis tribute artists all over the country and this thing just ROCKS night after night. I use it by itself for the smaller shows, or pair it up with a GK cab with 15" and horn for the big gigs. Never ever runs out of power. Just rock solid gig after gig. Good growl for the solo on Polk Salad Annie, sounds great with a fretless bass on Way Down. This thing has never missed a day. Only complaint, the wheels crapped out after 6 months.
