This amp is the greatest thing since sliced bread. My wife doesn't complain as much when she's carrying my gear for me whilst I cavort with the bar close gig-floozies. Extremely light weight. Deep, powerful tone. The EQ is perfect. The only possible thing I would want would be an effects loop and a ground lift for the XLR out, but minor quibbles to be sure. Played a 100-150 seat venue with it with no PA support, this amp was plenty beefy to pull it off. Did I mention it weighs next to nothing?

I was today walking around in a local music store looking for the magic amp that fits my budget, and yet still delivers the tone I want. I found it with this GK amp. The first thing I noticed is that it was sitting at the front without a power cord, so I moved it to the back to see if I could borrow one from the back. Having moved many a bass amp, I was expecting the usual 90lbs or so. I almost lost my balance jerking the amp up because it was so light....33lbs to be exact...so light that it felt like an empty cabinet light. I figured that this was probably going to sacrifice sound for weight, which is just stupid to me. Boy, was I wrong. This amp has twice the power of the Fender Rumble, and another 15inch combo from Ampeg, but at the same price point! The sound was very astounding and very versatile. The bottom end was crisp and loud and handled low B without a hitch. Plenty of volume too. One other thing that I really liked was that the amp's background noise was much quieter than ANY amp in the building, even the Mark Bass stuff. The USEFUL features like built in like compression, boost, and the ability to turn the tweeter off and on right on the head! Well thought out! Wow, this is the amp I'm getting when the cash finally shows up. No question about it. The weight is just the icing on the cake! After a long tiring gig, no more lugging around ridiculously heavy bass rigs anymore. Everyone will be jealous of you for once.

I just got rid of my SWR WM 112 for this combo and let me tell the amp is incredible.Coupled with my my Music Man this amp kicks over any 200watt combo I played through.Tons of clarity and thump for days.TH\he basic eq is just right to dial a sweet tone for any style of music, and my fretless five just sings.This is the best combo out right now and very reasonable in price.Oh yeah, it only weighs 33lbs so it won't break your back.If you are looking for a great 200w combo to be heard from, look no further.
