Great all-around bass

After playing a fretless Tribute L-2500, I just had to try the L-2000. It is a great bass at this price or even more. I have played several basses in this price range and this one clearly outperforms them all. Once you get used to all the switch combinations, you can get a huge variety of sounds. The neck has a smooth satin finish and the bass balances well when worn. A small adjustment of the saddle heights was all that was needed to set this up for me. I got the Blueburst with maple and my only complaint is that the blue is very dark on this one and the burst is very subtle. It may not be this way on others. Other than that I have no issues and can't imagine needing another bass for a very long time.

I love this bass. Have owned it for about 2 years now and have never had a problem (other than the strap buttons falling off, but that was my fault=>). Can sound anywhere from a stingray to a P-bass to close to a J-bass. Replaced 2 basses with it just from the versatility!

G&L Tribute L-2000 Premium Bass

Well to start the features are virtually endless. The PUP modes are the same as owning 4 different basses (Fender P-bass & Jazz bass, Music Man Stingray, & G&L) all in one. The swamp ash (premium model only) body has a clear & loud sound with exceptional sustain (also thanks to the massive patented bridge). I got mine from a local music shop & ordered the maple neck/fretboard, which I feel has more pop than rosewood. The PUP's are the same as you would get if you bought a "real" L-2K straight from G&L! I don't see how anyone who loves electric bass, could not be in complete awe over this extremely affordable, high-quality instrument. Choice is yours, but don't hesitate any further. I did and they raised the price!

I walked into a guitar shop in lexington. I found three basses that I was interested in. This one, a warwick rockbass corvette, and a spector legend classic 4 string. I played the G&L tribute L-2000 first and the tone was amazing and I liked it a lot until I put it down and grabbed the rockbass. everything about the beginner warwick was better. The spector was superior in the tone department as well. So this bass isnt the best value in the 500-750 market.

I've played bass for over 30 years, and I've owned more basses than I can remember. This one is an amazing find. With the active/passive electronics, it offers a very broad spectrum of sounds. It feels similar to a Fender P-bass (not surprisingly). Mine needed no "tweeking" upon arrival. For the price, you cannot beat this thing. In fact, you probably can't beat it for several hundreds more.
