Life Saver

I have been playing for many years and have owned many serious cabinets. I finally realized the stupidity of hauling around a huge heavy rig, even for larger venues. NEO speaker technology has completely changed the options and eliminated the need for tons of weight to get tons of power. This is truly the best “one cabinet” rig you can purchase right now. I replaced a 4x10/1x15 full stack with this cabinet and will never look back. I paired it with a Genz-Benz Shuttle 6.0 600 watt head, but I suspect it would work great with any other quality head as well. The sound is loud, deep, punchy and throaty. The NEO speakers have a natural sound and pump out serious power and low end. The cabinet is solidly built with no rattles or loose ends. Adjustable tweeter to deal with the high end (can also be turned off). The incredible aspect of this cabinet is the weight. It is less than 60 lbs!! This baby is a lifesaver (i.e., back-saver). I have only one complaint and that is the lack of side and bottom handles. The top “edge-lift” handles are fine for lifting up and down and for pushing the cabinet on its kickback wheels. However, when loading into a car, carrying upstairs, or moving it around other than “up-down” movements, the lack of side or bottom handles make it difficult despite the cabinets overall light weight.

Great for any bassist - but FANTASTIC for NYC!

As a working rock bassist in NYC with no car, I needed a cabinet for the venues that didn't provide a back-line. It needed to be powerful enough to cut through at least the stage volume of a 500-capacity venue, yet light and portable enough that I could carry it out of my apartment by myself (I'm 5' 9", 150 pounds) and fit into a city cab. I was almost ready to suck-it-up and buy an Ampeg 4x10 HLF (which is ridiculously heavy, but had the lows I was looking for...and my thought was it would slide into the backseat of a cab) or two 2x10's, but after reading the reviews of this cabinet, I took a chance and bought it sight-unseen. And let me tell you...this thing is UNREAL. Not only does it give HUGE bottom at large venues with plenty of headroom and low end (more so than a 4x10), but it's light enough that I can carry it WITH my GK800RB on top, and it fits into the trunk of an NYC cab along with my guitarists vintage Mesa Boogie 1x12. Every time I commute with this thing, I can not praise it enough. Then I get it to the venue, and I can't praise the sound enough either. Bassists from other bands that see me play with this thing can not believe the sound and portability of this cabinet (especially when I lift it straight onto the stage by myself...I look like the Hulk). TOTALLY worth the price. I do wish it had a pull-out handle though.

DON'T HESITATE - GET IT!

I have been using a variety of bass cabs in all different combinations; 2x10, 4x10 plus 15's. I could never get the right sound until I acquired the NEOX cab. It is crisp, have lots of healthy mids and to top it all serious bottoms. I use mainly 6-string basses and the sound is creamy - just keep the horn level at halfway! It is super light and cuts the mix better than other big brand name boxes I have used. If you want a special sounding cab, get this one - it got all the sounds you were always looking for right in there!

This cab is the one you have been looking for! The tone it is cable of producing is unreal, and it is capable of moving a large amount of air in the process. I have never like 8-10's or 4-10 cabs because they can't achieve that down low growl that a rock player should have. I have owned it all, and this is the best. They are expensive for a reason..... QUALITY!!

small cab, big sound

I really like this cab, over the years I've been through the usual gambit of cab combinations and I keep comming back to this cab. It offers me the best of both worlds. Big sound / small foot print. This is a very flexable cab, with tweeter off sound is thick and tight, with tweeter on it will make your ears bleed. It can handle lots of power and sounds good at any volume. Built in casters make it easy to move and reasonable weight makes it easy to load and unload. For the working musician this cab earns its keep.
