I've been looking for a light setup for practice and small gigs but I've tried almost everything. I usually use an Eden WT550 and EA CXL112 and Bagend S15D for most gigs. I couldn't get my hands on a AI or Markbass and the specs for the Neo-Pak was pretty impressive (i.e., 8.5 lbs and 350watts with a tube preamp). First, it's no Eden but comes pretty close. It's loud and actually sounded louder than the WT550. I a/b with a GK 700RB and I could get real close to that sound and with the tube preamp it could get warm tones similar to the Eden. Pretty impressive for a amp that so light and almost half the price of the eden. It's got a full DI and more watts than the Walkabout. It's eq has mid sweep and three preset eq's for low filter, mid scoop and high. They used really brite blue LED's and you can almost use the amp as flashlight. I bought the neo-pak last week and was bummed when I read about the new Eden WTX amp. But the Eden was only 160w at 8ohm it would have been too little. I'm going to pair the Neo-Pak with a Epifani UL112 that I just ordered. I'm hoping to throw the bass over one shoulder with the neo-pak and carry the UL in my hand and walk into the gigs. Bottom line - I'm impressed and don't understand how come others haven't looked at it as an option. Just my 2cent review.
