Blends analog warmth and punch with 600W solid-state power.
The Shuttle 6.0 bass amplifier blends analog and digital platforms to produce plenty of warmth, punch, and a generous 600 watts of power for its size. The signal path utilizes a 12AX7 tube preamp with Genz•Benz active EQ and responsive signal shape circuitry. An optional footswitch is available for use with the Signal Mute and three Signal Shaping circuits. The power amp section is a high-power CLASS D module, which also incorporates a switch mode power supply. It has an effects loop, extended range input gain for active/passive sensitivity, a Limiter circuit, Speakon speaker outputs, full XLR direct out interface, aux, input, LED status indicators and more.
The Shuttle series from Genz•Benz also incorporates a highly innovative removable amp chassis design that allows you to pull out the lightweight amp head from its saddle and transport it inside a gig bag. The bass player in my band recently switched to this, and had played through a sansamp and power amp prior to it. This thing kills the sansamp as far as tone is concerned, and is extremely small and light for a bass amp. Has a nice and warm round sound if that's what you're looking for.

First of all, let me say that this thing BUMPS! I worked with a band this weekend whose bass player had this amp paired with the 2x12 cabinet and it was LOUD! Don't get me wrong; it sounded great. This bass player had to play many different styles throughout the night and the rig sounded great all night. He said that he had the fan modded and sped up cuz it was getting hot. So use that info at your discretion. He did say that GenzBenz did the mod/repair for him. He carries it IN his gig bag with his bass!! The direct out was super clean too. Not even the slightest buzz.

LOOK no further- This is IT;
Well made and so portable.Cool looking. Works every time and no hiccups with it. Before I bought it, I e-mailed a question via the Genz Benz web site. The OWNER /CEO answered personally, within TWO hours, and it was a SATURDAY afternoon. Now THAT is service ! ! Tell me another company that does that.
Features: Size and power. It is so small and light, it seems like a toy, - till you power it up, then WHAM ! It rocks, and rocks ALL NIGHT, never misses a beat. Cute little blue lights as well..It has all the features, plus a little switch on the back to automatically switch in to European voltage (240) if you are a travelling man. The only thing I can think of adding would be a built in tuner, but I am now being picky. I like it as it is.
Sound: Brilliant tone, and a very nice "tube" sound, on a par with much more expensive 'boutique' amps. In the past I have either used or owned, Fender, Hi-watt, Marshall, Ampeg, Eden etc. etc; you get the picture, well this baby is up there in the BIG league and LOT cheaper. It will reproduce ANY sound you want of the afore-mentioned heads. Fantastic bass boost /gain control on it.
Playability and Feel,is great. It Rocks all night, and you would not believe the amount of interest it creates among other players.

Reviewer's Play Style: What the gig requires
This is my first Genz Benz Head. I bought it in April of 2008. I also purchased a Genz Benz LS 112 to play it through...unbelievable. I've played numerous gigs with that rig, usually between 200 to 500 people, and never had a problem. I recently built a 1x15 sub to go underneath the LS 112 and increase the load to 4 ohm. My last gig (two days before this posting) was an open air event (in 34 degree weather) in front of seven thousand people. The stage was 20 feet by 60 feet and, of course there was pro FOH support. I always insist that the sound person take the signal from the DI post gain because of the fantastic, and very dynamic, sound of this amp. You really cannot appreciate this amp on stage until you open it up. Driving the pre hard (it has a 12AX7 tube pre), opening up the post gain and setting the output to 3/4 is ridiculus. Everything you do, every subtle thumb mute, every slap, every tap, evey pull up on the finger/fret board gives back exactly what you put into it. Simply put...this is the most powerfull, articulate head you can buy for less than seven hundred dollars. Oh, did I mention it only weighs 3.75 lbs.? If it matters (I don't think it does since just about any bass will benefit from this monster) I play a Lakland 55-02. I also play my upright through this rig using a Bass Max and a KRK preamp...the sound is thick, fat and creamy with clean finger nuance.

I took a chance and ordered the Shuttle 6.0 on reviews, without going to the local music shop and trying one. All I can say is I am in awe. I play in a rock band that covers a wide range from AC/DC to Zeppelin. I had to use a mixture of different effects with my old amp to get a few usable sounds. As soon as I got this I pluged my Warwick stage 1 streamer it into the Shuttle and a Warwick 211 pro cabinet and it just blew my ashdown 4x10 combo away. I dialed in all my sounds going directly into it without my pedal board effects. Then I took it to practice and plugged it into my Warwick 211 pro and Warwick 115 cabinets to hear what this baby does pushung the full 600w. (both cabs are 8ohms) and half the band stopped a few times during the practice in unbelief on how unbeliveable this thing sounded. The clean sounds engulfed the room while having a clear not muddy low down deep tone. When I pushed the tube into a suttle clip the amp broke sweet and creamy. I am not much of a slap player but could have easily dialed in a sweet tone with the signal shape and active eq. All I can say now is my next gig cannot come soon enough.
