Black Pearl

Comfort, balance, and classic bass sounds are what the Freeway basses are all about. Each rock maple neck is hand-finished and shaped with the Godin Ergocut technique. The convertible bridge offers the option of stringing through the body for added snap or through the back of the bridge for a mellower tone. 2 Godin single-coil pickups are screwed right into the body amplifying the natural resonance of the bass and producing smooth and dynamic tones.

I purchased this bass in the burgundy colour (which is now discontinued)several days ago and I couldn't be happier. I absolutely love this bass. It feels so nice playing it and it sounds amazing. It's an excellent quality bass as its made in Canada and assembled in the States. This bass is beautiful looking too. The body work of this godin freeway is incredible. You are definitely getting your moneys worth in both quality and sound if you buy this guitar. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I just bought this bass and I have to say it sound amazing. I could hear the tone in my head of what I wanted my bass to sound like but I just could not find the right sound. Until I bought the Godin freeway. I have only played a sr400 Ibanez which was my first bass. It didn't have the tone I wanted so I used a Digitech pedal to get close to the tone I wanted. But with the Godin freeway I just use the natural sound and it's smooth and great for slapping.

A-1 Bass for the Money

I use this bass to play old rock, country, gospel and some bluegrass. This thing can hold it's own with the best "off the shelf" basses in the world. I have found it to be very versatile, producing tones from mellow to punchy. The sound is always honest and the weight is comfortable. The neck is awesome with the satin finish, plays like butta and no dive. The frets are just the right size, not too tall, not too low and the quality is impeccable. The factory Godin bridge is similar to a BA II and contributes to the added sustain. I was impressed the first time I picked it up in Music store and continue to be impressed with it. Godin guitars are made in Canada and they have access to some of the best hardwood in the world. I think the wood quality is what makes the difference in this guitar. Has the P/J pickup configuration, which allows more warmth that my Jazz, but with a similar-feeling neck. I prefer Flatwound strings, so I changed it over to GHS flats which took a little of the punch away, but it still suits my playing style. My Godin now splits time with my Jazz. As with any guitar, please try it before you buy, but I can confidently recommend this one!

Great Mid Class Bass

Great Bass for those who just need a bass to push them through. Not too great for recording because the pickups get very distorted if you turn up the volume, but plug it through a nice amp (currently playing on a Yorkville XM100) and it works great. Great Beginner to mid grade bassist.
