I love my Gretsch Bass

I started playing bass about three years ago and had bought a fender jazz bass. Being a female with a small body structure, I became extremley frustrated with the weight of the fender jazz bass. Thats when I came across the Gretsch G2202. It is a short scale bass and light weight. It is so easy to play and doesn't hurt my back after a long show. Not to mention the tone quality is sweet and the price is just right. Not to mention, the Les paul body style always looks cool in my opinion. If your looking for a sharp looking, lightweight, good sounding bass the Gretsch G2202 is for you.

For what this bass costs, it is a great deal. Leave the Danos alone, for the price, this is a much nicer bass. Solid body, with a remarkable finish. Although I'd like to see a second pickup at the bridge, with the pickup placed where it is, a nice variety of sounds can be achieved. Nice job, Gretsch!

Bad for the money

This bass has a really bad sound to it. There are lots of other budget basses that are way better than this. If you are a beginner looking for a cheap bass, dont buy this bass. It costs more than its worth

Gretsch G2202 Electromatic Jr.

Bought this bass as my own 1st bass 4 months ago. Had been playing a borrowed one before that. I spent about 7 hours trying every bass I could find. This was at the BOTTOM of my price range. I did not like the color. I wasn't crazy about the "Les Paul" body style. I didn't want to try it out. When I finally did I bought it. With that 1 pickup and 2 knobs you can get a WIDE range of sounds out of this bass. For the money you can't get better than this. It's heavy, only comes in a black burst, but has a high quality finish. Hardware seems pretty good. Pickup is SWEET!!! Try one and you will keep it!

Plain and simple, this thing Rocks! Pretty big tone with simple features make this Bass a steal. I went into the shop planning on buying a Thunderbird (next time) but I saw this thing that I've played a few times and opted for it instead. Plugged it in and figured it would be something pretty sweet and something different for a change that would be great to throw some flatwounds on. Haven't been the least bit disappointed! Buy it today, I'm not kidding!!! Tell your Friends!
