Blue Moon

The BTB575FM 5-string bass guitar has the kind of curves that would make Boticelli proud. An apple bottom with a long, thin upper horn and deep cutaways on both sides of the fret, it's an electric bass that will stand out in any situation on visuals alone. Where the fretboard and body meet, the BTB575FM's finish is angled downward crossways adding to its allure. The 5-piece maple/bubinga thru-neck and figured maple top complete with the optical stimulus. Soundwise, the mahogany body gives off plenty of smooth tones given some oomph by the dual MK2-5 pickups.

this is the fist 5-string bass i have ever bought. Its plays so well and it just feels right in your hands. The string spacing is pretty big, so u can slap on this bass easily. I LOVE THIS BASS!

Nice bass, but not what I need

To start out, this is a Very good playing bass. The cons: The action is low, almost too low. It makes it kind of tricky to get a good slap out of it. For a bass at this price, it sounds slightly "muddy" on the "B" string, just enought to throw me off though. It had some fret buzz on the 12th, 15th, and 19th fret on the B,D, and the G string. Its heavy, the BTB575FM is a TANK. The Pros. The low action made it very easy to play. With it being a neck thru bass, it sounded good, not like I had Hoped but still very good. The 3 way EQ and active electronics are phenominal so many different tones you can get out of this beast!! 24 frets are a nice touch, the color had a very cool green tint to it. All in all, great bass, i played the display model so it was kind of beat up but if it had been in better shape I'd be playing it right now. Good investment for rock, metal, jazz, and with an action adjustment, funk.

That is all I can say is wow. This bass might just be the best I have played. The one thing I notice most that sets it apart is the 35" scale which is great. The pickups are amazing and get a great low end especially but highs are great too. Great playability, solid through and through. The only thing I would change would be to have 2 volumes and a tone or 2 volume and 2 tones. The other controls are useless but I would have bought this bass if I could have. I will have this someday. Try this, you will not regret it!!!

a nice upgrade from older BTBs

I've owned an Ibanez BTB455 for about 6 years now, and had the chance to play this newer model just the other day.

First impression: this is definitely a posh upgrade from the older models. The neck-through design feels solid and provides a great base for the strings to ring against. The finish is beautiful, pale grays and purples really give it a unique lustre, and the Bartolinis in particular provide a great throaty tone that my older BTB lacks.

Absolutely worth checking out if you have the opportunity to play it in a store (I gave it a 4.0 only because I wasn't able to play it longer).
