The Tone-Lok Series Ibanez SB7 is a synthesizer bass pedal that does its thing in real time—no drag, no tracking errors. You can even play chords. The SB7 bass pedal provides 3 modes: Auto Wah for that frequency-funky Shaft tone, Synth 1 for the light synth sound of '80s new wave, and Synth 2 for a deep, heavy Bootsy Collins-style funk bass sound.

On the outside, Tone-Lok effects are equipped with the Ibanez exclusive set and forget Push-Lok rotary pots. Push the knobs down and your tone settings lock securely inside the case—no more lost settings or broken knobs.

On the inside, Tone-Lok pedals feature hi-fidelity components carefully tweaked with the constant input from a new generation of Ibanez players. And all this great stuff comes encased in cool looking, road-tough metal boxes at prices the working player can afford.

Ibanez Tone-Lok SB7 Synthesizer Bass Pedal Features:

  • No drag, no tracking errors
  • Provides 3 modes: auto wah, light synth new wave, and a deep, heavy Bootsy-style funk sound

Will Get the Job Done

I got this thing about a month ago, just long enough to figure out the basics of it. I was wanting two effect pedals, (this one and the WD7) but was told to get the cheaper of the two to help me save up for a car.

When I got this I was a little disappointed because I couldn't get the sound I was looking for out of it. However, it gives such a verity of sounds I'm fine with that.

This pedal gives pretty much the perfect sound for Thriller by Michael Jackson, as well as other fun sounds to mess with. With AutoWah it will pick up harmonics pretty well. Also, if you turn the level all the way up and turn the Decay to fast then you can get some pretty good distortion for guitar.

Not the best bass effect nor the best guitar distortion, but it is good enough to get the job done. And besides, it is good to mess with sounds even if your playing something by somebody else to make it your own.

It's is a good stomp box for its price. Some reviewers were complaining about how it fades in and out, this is true but you need to adjust the frequency knob to your preference; if your playing high then turn it up, or vice verse if your playing low or mid. Unique synth sounds, the auto-wah can be used for ambiance or groove. for a stomp box this is pretty versatile if you can manipulate to tones and tools perfectly it cab be very useful, but requires a little bit of neck technique

I think this pedal is awesome, the auto wah takes some fiddling but it works well with lower sensitivity and a mid frequency. Synth 1 is all around great whatever the parameters are, Synth 2 is a bit quiet but I would suggest a lower frequency/ higher level if you were going to use this effect in a live setting. This pedal is awesome and I use it all the time. Great for solos. And yea combined with distortion this thing is LETHAL.

I researche dthe Ibanez SB7 and was excited to get one. I put in the battery, plugged it in and it was horrible. No matter what setting I used, it faded in and out, cut different notes out when replaying the same riff. A total let down. I tried different basses and different cords with no better results.

A good range of a effects that can go from light fuzz, to space noices. The "tone-loc" controls can make for some Kaoss type noise when messing with feedback. Combined with distortion pedals make it sound amazing.
